  1. UCLA was up 32-16 on Cal with 4 minutes left in the half, and decided they'd go into one of their patented play-like-crap-at-the-end-of-the-half modes. 32-29 at the half.
  2. The system has been getting bumped later and later. Just yesterday, it was going to be the 16th and 17th. You get some thunder this weekend? I saw SD has a severe t-storm warning today. The whole set-up looks like a potentially large event for us but they aren't predicting more than a couple inches - of course, it was just snow showers 6 hours ago. where is truffle when you need him? hopefully it doesn't rain at all in SoCal next weekend. Yeah - and we got hail, sleet and the non-accumulating snow with one thunderstorm last night (we even lost power for some time). We were under a warning at some point last night too. There really isn't much moisture for this system to work with. WBC aside, we could use the rain. any moisture that falls here comes from the gulf of mexico so we really need to energy from the storm - the moisture is long gone by the time it gets here anyway. I would hate to drive in LA in that kind of weather! Well, I hate to drive in LA anyway. Go Bears! Heh, it's worse when it's this cold - Grapevine and Cajon were closed all day yesterday and they even had to close the lower level mountain passes because of ice and snow.

  4. The system has been getting bumped later and later. Just yesterday, it was going to be the 16th and 17th.
  5. No snow for you guys? We got some last night here outside LA (it didn't stick :()! Hopefully it will be dry next weekend when I'm in the Valley of the Sun - I know the storms stitchface talks about will definitely keep it wet in LA.
  6. That would be bad on the Cubs part if that's what they based it on. I do hope and expect these opinions are based on their opinion on Hill's ability to improve his change and/or cutter. For what it's worth, I thought Marshall was ahead of Hill last summer before Sean got hurt.
  7. No problemo, it's all volunteer work. :) I apologize for not getting this in last night - I lost power right after that thanks to severe weather and low-elevation ice.
  8. Cal defeats Oregon in double OT, 81-77. Oregon had a chance to win it, but Chamberlain Oguchi missed the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2 seconds left. Leon Powe scored 41 points, setting a new Pac-10 Tourney record (he broke Reggie Miller's record of 39 in 1987), but didn't play the final minute of the game because he suffered a stinger. Tomorrow, it will be between (3) Cal vs. (1) UCLA.
  9. Never hurts to have too many Bruins on your team (no matter their health status).
  10. By the way, I think old age is really getting to Lute Olson.
  11. Sorry, I'm working on mine right now.
  12. UCLA ends up winning it 71-59, but the game wasn't as close as the final score would indicate. UCLA advances to the Pac-10 championship, against the winner of Cal-Oregon.
  13. UCLA up on Arizona 33-26 at the half. Darren Collison has had a huge half coming in for Jordan Farmar who's in foul trouble, but the Bruins got a bit sloppy at the end of the half as the Wildcats scored the last 4 to end the half. Lute Olson was interviewed by the sideline reporter at the end of the first half and he took the whole interview time to rip the refs.
  14. 2 IP for Welly, no BBs! But he gave up an earned run on 4 hits.
  15. Yeah, this was not cool. I don't care about the A's-Angels. I'm not pleased that the LA Times lied to me with their schedule - I planned my lunch break around listening to the game.
  16. You need to talk to him and convince him Scott Boras is the way to go.
  17. Senior Cedric Bozeman will start for UCLA, sprained ankle or not. :)
  18. Wow, Georgetown choked that one.
  19. Remember a couple years ago when it was like Ryu and Sisco, Sisco and Ryu? I was so excited about Ryu and Sisco. yeah. Especially when they'd fight each other.
  20. The game is on AM 710 or 830 for those of you in LA, the OC, San Diego and the IE. I won't be around the computer to give updates, hopefully for all of you, one of our other SoCal posters will be. According to the LA Times, it's a split squad game.
  21. Why do you act like he's happy to be just sitting on his ass, not pitching, competing, and picking up a paycheck? Honestly CubbieRich, you have it out for him on a personal level. Did he still a girl from you in a previous life or something? I know he's being paid, and not performing to that paycheck, but it seems your dislike and hatred for him go above and beyond just a player who is oft-hurt. Badger, my friend..looks like you're coming over to my side. I expect the highest paid pitcher of the Cubs to lead the team by his performance, very hard to do from the perpetual DL. After years of denying he has bad mechanics, he now admits that he has changed them this winter. Steve Stone is right again. Thank goodness this $12 million DL veteran will be somewhere else next year. Are you moved yet? Have you found Mickey's Diner in St. Paul near the State Capitol? Hope everything is going well. Here how's he suffering through his rehabs every year. How much offense could that house buy? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y238/CubsGallery/krissyhouse.jpg Blame the Cubs then for signing him.
  22. What time do the minor leaguers start practice at Fitch?
  23. He's denying those reports now. LINK. Yeah, Mike Scioscia and GM Bill Stoneman confirmed that he won't be playing on FSN's Southern California Sports Report tonight.
  24. Cal beats USC by 15 to advance to the semifinals. Leon Powe had 22 points and 20 boards. Oregon pulls off the upset, 84-73. Chamberlain Uguchi had all 22 of his points in the second half, including 6 three pointers. They were down by 14 with about 10 minutes left and they went the last 30 minutes of the game without their idiot PG who got ejected! Tomorrow: (4) Arizona vs. (1) UCLA (7) Oregon vs. (3) Cal Arizona will be without Hasaan Adams (drunk driving) and Oregon will be without PG Aaron Brooks (suspended for tomorrow's game for his intentional elbow/ejection in today's game).
  25. You know the Cubs wouldn't get them. :( Not legally anyways, but since it's Cuba who cares about the laws? This is why we're forming a covert strike team to go down there and take the players that we want. Our elite strike team will be making regular trips to communist countries to extract their best talent and import it to the US under the radar. I think Rocket meant that even if he defects, he'd be a Yankee or Red Sox player. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some attempted defections, especially if Cuba advances in the WBC Uhh, I'm not Rocket.
