  1. What does that mean? Means that he came advertised as the next great thing but can't get it together at the major league level. I know Guzman's sample size is small to this point, but I see similarities nonetheless. Great arm strength but too much nibbling, too many walks, little confidence. He wasn't ready to be promoted and you've already decided what his career path will be like after 2 big league starts?
  2. Hey Carlos, thank you for taking your time to answer our questions! Do you think it's easier to convert from catcher to pitcher as opposed to any other position to pitcher? The Cubs have talked about you possibly being a future closer. What would you prefer, starting or relieving? Keep up the good work in West Tenn!
  3. Thanks for taking your time to answer our questions, David. First of all, how did it feel to get traded from the Giants system to the Cubs last season? Last season, your velocity on your fastball was reportedly down, but it has returned to form this season. Do you know why it was down last season and how it came back this season? I hope you're back with the big league team soon!
  4. Yup, that's the hope. He was struggling at AAA, he's obviously still working back from the missed time (which is why I was hoping the Cubs wouldn't promote him yet).
  5. I was wondering, do you know what pitches Mitch throws? He's certainly been impressive so far this season.
  6. sure, the bucks are playing the pistons pretty well too, but i don't care, i'm a bulls fan. I'm a Bulls fan first, but it is exciting seeing a team that has always been bad do well - and have a chance to beat my most hated player in the next round. It's just an automatic anti-Lakers thing.
  7. He was a good option in Oregon's offense but was pretty inconsistent. Better receiver than blocker.
  8. Probable Starters: Iowa: LHP Raul Valdes (1-0, 3.60 ERA, 15 IP, 8/6) @ LHP Justin Thompson (1-0, 5.65 ERA) West Tenn: LHP JR Mathes (2-2, 5.40 ERA, 25 IP, 15/2) vs RHP Carlos Villanueva (2-2, 5.26 ERA) Peoria: LHP Donnie Veal (2-2, 3.12 ERA, 26 IP, 26/14) vs. RHP Mike Wlodarczyk (1-1, 1.65 ERA)
  9. Somehow, this doesn't shock me.
  10. doesn't mean much. Remember when Woody went 5-0 in 2004 ST. Yea, we don't want to go there, but just sayin ST doesnt mean diddly. And then looked the best he's ever looked until his injury in LA...
  11. First time pitching in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he just needs to build back his arm strength or he was on a pitch count.
  12. Blame IowaCubs.com. I took the info before Hill was promoted.
  13. The LA Clippers won their first playoff series in 30 years - and their first playoff series in California. Next stop, beat Kobe and the Lakers!
  14. Iowa: LHP Rich Hill (1-0, 1.42 ERA, 19 IP, 23/5) @ RHP Jared Fernandez (1-0, 0.00 ERA) West Tenn: RHP Randy Wells (1-1, 1.54 ERA, 11.2 IP, 9/3) vs. RHP Spike Lundberg (2-1, 1.31 ERA) Daytona: RHP Grant Johnson (2-2, 5.14 ERA, 21.0 IP, 13/9) Peoria (game 1): LHP Jesus Yepez (1-0, 2.12 ERA, 17 IP, 9/6) vs. RHP Greg Reinhard (0-2, 7.97 ERA) Peoria (game 2): RHP Mitch Atkins (1-0, 1.20 ERA, 15 IP, 16/6) vs. RHP Jeff Kamrath (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
  15. :-k It's one of the few low numbers remaining... Unless I go down to 29. But he already got the walk. Do you mean 45 more ABs from now till Neifi's second walk?
  16. I don't know that anyone has made that assertion, have they ? Nobody did. And I don't even believe it. I just find it funny that the pitching staff gives up like 2 more runs a game after he got injured. He surely coudln't have affected that with his injury, but yet, there are the numbers... Just because there's a correlation between Lee's injury and the pitching getting worse doesn't mean the injury is the cause of it.
  17. The Clippers better sweep the Lakers next series, cuz Lakers fans are as bad as Trojan (football) fans.
  18. Wow, the Suns were robbed. Twice.
  19. I'm not taking anything personally. It's clear you don't subscribe to the philosophy of objectivity. I'm not crying over your attacks of Z. Nor am I taking them personally. And If that's a personal attack you need get some tougher skin. There was no attack of any kind in that post. Merely my belief that I'm glad to know you don't want to be objective when talking about Z. Yeah, I guess this wasn't personal. It wasn't. Let it go. I was debating a player's performance and not talking about an individual poster's actions. You're the one who called me out for not being "objective" simply because we had a difference of opinion. "It" was never an issue with me. You can continue to be disingenous. But have fun talking to yourself. This is your final warning to drop the subject. Please don't call other posters "disingeneous."

  21. Alrighty, let's drop the subject then.
