  1. Can a new Yahoo league start now if you put one together? Here's what I would do. Create a league (assuming you can) and invite all the "victims" in your league to play in your league. Fill the remaining spots with anyone who would be interested. Once you get the new league set up, have everyone dump their players in this other league so that the "commish" can't have any more fun at the expense of others. Beat him at his own game. How fun will it be for him to beat up on an abandoned league? I think they are still accepting new leagues, but Live Drafts are over and you have a four team limit and I would guess most people, myself included have hit that limit.
  2. It gets even better: New Message from the commish reads: TITLE: u "dummies" who vetoed "i can always drop abreu and utley and sanders and wilson and do the trade myself. im the comish. in fact, i think i will do that" Its like free comedy. At least he admits to cheating now. CubbyBlue if you could send me a PM that'd be great.
  3. Well the commish had said he would ban voting against trades for the day and still hasn't followed through on restoring it. I'm still locked and I don't envsion that changing, but I'll keep tabs for a little while at least because now there is some heated discussion in the message boards although it is a little unclear about what cuz its just a slew of uncomprehedible grammar and swearing. Thanks for the tip on emails BigBadB. I'll make sure to make a list at the end of the season based on people who stayed active and such.
  4. Maybe he did, but don't think just because he is declining is good enough speculation. There are plenty of guys who took steriods that we will never hear about- Guys who you would be surprised took steriods because they didn't make them much better. Whether or not Edmonds did means little to me. And honestly this post was very trollish.
  5. This is a Rant, but fantasy related. Feel free to move. If you saw this following trade had been accepted would you think someone was cheating or that someone was a huge idiot: Reggie Sanders and Jack Wilson for Utely and Abreu Heres the story in case you are interested: I immediately thought cheating and although the two teams did not have the same username the guy on the losing end of the trade had not been in any other leagues for any sport at any time. That along with the fact that only an idiot could make such a trade was enough for me to make post complaining about the cheatingand makin sure everyone was gonna veto it. Then I see after looking closer that the winner of this trade is the commish. So I made a post saying its a dead league, the commish is cheating. Then one more post saying just in case the other user was just flat out stupid I was gonna try to take his good players(and I did make that trade proposal). Today I checked up to see how that had resolved itself and the commish made a post calling me a dumb sack of ****. No big deal really just gave me a laugh. He locked me from doing anything, and it really wasn't an issue, the other leagues I am in will keep me busy enough, so its no big loss that I wont be in this league. But the commish then made another post saying because of what I did he was banning voting on trades, so now its all up to him. Yea, now I really believe that hes not cheating. I know I'll be told just to jon leagues with people I know but no one I know is into this so that isn't really an option. But really why do people want to win SO badly against a bunch of strangers over the internet that they go as far as to create seperate yahoo accounts so they can trade with themselves.
  6. 6'4'' 205. Thats right about what Mabry is listed at so I'll could be any of the corner infield or outfield. Whenever I create myself in MVP im a 3B or RF so either of those works. Maybe I'm just a Utility Player.
  7. Where was the ball hit? If it was to the right side, the guy has some decent speed and the RF is average, it is a risk worth taking. If it was hit to the LF who has a cannon and the guy is slow then yes it was stupid. So which scenario was it?
  8. Give it time to sink in some before you decide its unoriginal. The original Wrigley probably didn't have much character. Any of the defining characteristics of Wrigley werent around until the 30s at least right? And at that time were they immediately classics. I'll give it time still.
  9. I wont get too excited yet, but it is encouraging. Lets hope Dusty uses them correctly and not too much. There will likely be stretched were it will look bad but we'll have to just wait and look at the season as a whole. If we wanna be successful its gonna be how we end the season. Whoever is hottest and the end will do the best.
  10. I'm happy for the sweep. Its a long season though, I can keep some perspective. But my Card fan friend will be getting s*** tomorrow! Just like he did yesterday and today.
  11. I unfortunately could only catch the last couple innings. The box score gave me some idea, but how did Marshall do?
  12. I hope they rigged the showers so that mud came out. Either that, or warm water, but with sugar or something in it so they were all sticky.
  13. We're fast cuz we have holes in our helmets. Those will win a couple games this year. Add another couple from the helmets when they keep our white guys cool during hot summer games.
  14. After the White Sox game, heres a stat line from one of my players: McCarthy IP- 3.0 W-1 L-0 SV-0 K-2 ERA-0.00 WHIP-0.00 K/9-6.00 K/BB- INFINITY Can't beat that.
  15. If there were one thing that keeps us in the running that is it. By mid season some of our pitching prospects may have reached high profile again. If Epatt does well and some guys like Moore/Dopriak/Harvey do well maybe we could be in the running. All that is doubtful though.
  16. Not with all the time Wood and Prior will miss :( With them missing a bunch of time Z is our only big HR threat from the staff.
  17. Maybe NY can pay for a new stadium. Is that a legal transaction? Willis and Cabrera for a 40,000 seat stadium. If you count the stadium cost as part of the Yanks payroll it would be over 1 billion dollars, only a slight increase in their current payroll.
  18. Actually that 2004 bench looked ok going into the year but that bench didnt turn out as great. Hollandsworth was great, but got hurt. Martinez and Goodwin's production dropped significantly and Martinez battled some nagging injuries, if I recall. The AGONZ injury brought along the likes of Rey Ordonez and Damian Jackson. So even though going into 2004 looked okay going into the season, it turned out pretty bad. Maybe this years bench will turn out the same, looks good, but doesn't live up to expectations. With most of the guys being young they hopefully will improve and not decline.
  19. Mabry does not have very much power. And this is not the best Cubs team in years. The 2003 team had much more talent, especially when they added Aramis mid-season. The team that went into 04, with Sosa, Alou, Aram, Lee, Walker, Barrett, Patterson (off a good 1/2 season), and got even more talented adding Nomar. When he said the best we have had in years I think he was referring to just the bench. So using the starters as an example doesn't help the argument. 2003 Bench Bako, Karros/Choi/Simon, Harris, O'Leary, Goodwin, Martinez 2004 Bako, Goodwin, Maritnez, Macias, Hollandsworth, Walker/Grudz 2005 Blanco, Macias, Hairston, Dubious/Hollandsworth, Perez 2006 Blanco, Perez, Mabry, Hairston, Pagan, Bynum I'd say thats the best we've had the past few years. In 2003 and 2005 we had RH and LH power bats, but that was through platoons so we really only had one available on the bench at a time becuase the other was starting. That beng said a power RH woluld be better than Bynum. I assume we go back to a 5 man bench soon anyway though so someone is gone. Still better than we've had.
