  1. I asked the draft guy at RealGM what he thought about Jerry's gaff and here's what he said:
  2. Well David Haugh thinks the Bears should forfeit the pick to the Ravens to protect their reputation in dealing with other teams: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/sports/cbsports-bears-nfl-should-do-right-by-ravens-in-botched-deal-20110429,0,3298834.story
  3. I always wondered. You have a son, he ends up being an amazing football player and he gets drafted by the Packers. (Or the Cardinals in baseball). Who do you root for? haha.
  4. Will this affect other teams being willing to do draft day deals with the Bears in the future? Well if you're the team trading down, you would definitely have worries. If you're trading up though, I think it would matter less. On the other hand if you're a GM whos traded successfully with the Bears in the past, are you going to let this event hold more weight than you're past dealings? So it may have its biggest effect on a team without a rapport with Angelo and the Bears.
  5. Slimeball? Incompentent maybe, but it doesn't seem like he was trying to work anyone over.
  6. Honestly, they just need to go BPA and there isn't a position I wouldn't take, other than QB (obviously with the way the draft is going a QB won't be BPA though, so its moot)
  7. Well one things for certain, I don't think Baltimore will deal with Chicago again. I do fail to see how it matters to them considering they were trading down even if they had wanted Jon Baldwin who was taken in their slot, KC would have still taken them at 27 (unless they wanted Baldwin but were willing to give up the pick to get an additional 4th, but I don't think that to be the case since CB was a much bigger need than WR). So they just paid lower slot money. Maybe he wanted to pay even less slot money and thats why he's upset, haha I don't know. On the other hand, I don't blame him for trying. Worth the off chance you get a pick out of the (non)deal.
  8. I think one could end up at G even. I think I remember Tice liking big lineman, across the board. Future LT - Williams - Future C - Carimi/Webb ??
  9. Yea, I don't know if this guy is a LT or TR, but if he was the best OL available, he was the right pick. Its not like we really have any OL position set in stone into the future.
  10. Gave Carimi, Solid Pick
  11. While there were some questionable looking fouls, there were a couple of questionable non-fouls. NBA refs can be biased, inconsistent, and outright terrible, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt if I don't have a replay to watch from a better angle. They'll miss some fouls and call some non-fouls.
  12. I said the same thing, but it was in reference to our weak d. Game is being played on NBATV at 3pm tomorrow according to my Comcast menu. I may record it and check it out if i have time after work. (Edit- it says its only an hour, which means they must play it commercial free, straight through. no fast forwarding? awesome if so)
  13. I think you're remembering wrong, but I don't have game tape to prove it, so I'm not gonna keep trying to convince you otherwise.
  14. Well someone is remembering the game wrong, because I remember a couple Granger shots with a hand in his face and then a whole lot of open looks.
  15. The Bulls for the most part weren't playing the type of defense that made them the best defensive team in the league for the first 44 minutes. So yes, I believe it to be true. Will they hit 60% if we play d like that again? Its possible. Like I said, it was a good shooting night, but to say they shot out of their minds or unbelievable is an exaggeration. If we let a real playoff team get those looks we could expect them to hit 60% throughout a series. There were some contested shots made, mostly by Granger, who is their best offensive player, so you go in expecting a some shots like that from him. If we put a hand in front of Hansboroughs face and he hit those same shots, I'd call it unbelievable.
  16. Granger is a talented offensive player. He is a guy who I expect to hit a couple tough shots. Don't forget this guy averaged 25ppg at one point. There's shooting out of your mind, there's having a good shooting night, and there's making shots NBA players are supposed to make. The Pacers were somewhere in between 2 and 3. I've seen teams shoot out of their minds against the Bulls, and this just wasn't one of those times.
  17. They're going to shoot lights out for 44 minutes every game? God I hope not. They hardly shot lights out. The Bulls weren't contesting them very well. If you don't expect Hansborough to hit a jumper over a dummy (ie Boozer without a hand in his face), you were underrating Tyler. They were basically hitting open shots.
  18. It is pretty crazy. Even with two of them being end of quarter threes. Thats still 0 for 7 on "normal threes" His 3 looked really bad though. It does not have nearly enough lift on it. He only took one other non 3PT jumpshot, which he made. Everything else was in the paint. And some people on the NBA forums are saying its some conspiracy he got to the line 21 times.
  19. I think the moment he became the third option on the team he became very good. Earlier in the year he was inconsistent and then once Boozer came back he was a completely different player. Deng is really bad when you give him the ball and ask him to create his own shot. He'll turn it over or get swatted a lot. But he's great within the Bulls system. And he actually realizes what his strengths and weaknesses are, which helps a lot. He still looks awkward as hell, but he's actually been surprisingly effective this year at creating his own shot. If it works it works.
  20. This I definitely agree with. But I won't care if he improves next season and doesn't get it. Especially if there is a guy who has similar "qualifications" as Rose this year.
  21. I'll take the Ravens as I have in the past unless an actual Ravens fan comes along.
  22. This hit really close to home for me. I have grown up my whole life visiting Saugatuck, MI which is the town right next to Fenneville and worked there for 4 summers throughout college. I worked with a lot of Fenneville graduates and some still current students last summer. So some of my former co-workers are classmates with him. Needless to say my prayers are with all my friends in the area.
  23. I actually feel bad for Pistons fans. Thats how embarrassing those players are. What a bunch of losers. None of those guys who "protested" deserve to play another minute this season.
  24. ha, don't get me started, I could go off on about 20 tangents... i would argue that felton is a huge loss long-term. huge. I believe he is replaceable. The combination of Amare and D'Antoni's system is making him look better than he is.
