  1. When you have a clear cut #1 at QB, why not. Its not like you need to bring in competition for the spot. The only problem I have is that we should be developing LeFevour right now, except we had to endure Todd Freaking Collins.
  2. Will Martz bitch for a veteran? I like taking a development QB, but its useless if you lose him like LeFevour last year.
  3. Well its not quite 10 cent beer, but its still going to encourage more consumption of beer to what can already be an obnoxious part of the stadium (even though I do enjoy sitting there)
  4. Cheap beer = Bad situation waiting to happen Cheap hot dogs = possibly contributing to American obesity, but awesome nonetheless Doesn't help at all to disspell the idea that people just go to Wrigley to party, but as Nuts&Gum says, it is kind of true for the bleachers, so just targeting the demographics. Oh and this: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81431613/ She approves of this move.
  5. Okay, this trade controversy has gotten way overblown: Who died? http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/40197/bisciotti-ravens-are-right-to-be-upset
  6. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-combine/09000d5d81eadd3b/2011-combine-workout-Chris-Conte CBS Sports has him as the third ranked FS and #95 overall. SI grades him a 2.57, which is "Future Starter". Seems like about the right spot. He has good measurables. Seems like a good pick. Too bad we have to wait until round 5 now. Only two picks left. Always want to see BPA from this point on, but wouldn't mind a LB and RB.
  7. I think Paea had the best bench of anybody at the combine. He's a very powerful DT. I think it was a combine record (unless I read the ESPN ticker incorrectly)
  8. Got rid of that 4th rounder, haha. Well worth it.
  9. Trade Up! I'm guessing Paea
  10. The best part is that it was the Ravens who did not complete the agreed-to trade in 2003, which caused the Minnesota Vikings to drop 2 draft slots. Heh.
  11. Well that seams like it would take longer than 10 minutes. 25 picks and 2 min of analysis each = 50 minutes. What am I missing?
  12. Wait, what was the point of watching, just to see the picks announced for suspense sake? Did you manage to not read anything until watching? Because if you just wanted to see the picks you could have done it in 5 minutes on the internet. Isn't the point of actually watching the Draft because you want to see the commentary, or that you want to see it live?
  13. Okay so I just learned that the Team that Minnesota was trying to trade with when the missed their pick in 2003 because the other team didn't confirm with the league was.... Baltimore Ravens LOL http://articles.nydailynews.com/2003-04-27/sports/18219736_1_ravens-coach-brian-billick-terrell-suggs-trade-up
  14. FWIW - The draft guy at RealGM had this to say:
  15. I asked the draft guy at RealGM what he thought about Jerry's gaff and here's what he said:
  16. Well David Haugh thinks the Bears should forfeit the pick to the Ravens to protect their reputation in dealing with other teams: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/sports/cbsports-bears-nfl-should-do-right-by-ravens-in-botched-deal-20110429,0,3298834.story
  17. I always wondered. You have a son, he ends up being an amazing football player and he gets drafted by the Packers. (Or the Cardinals in baseball). Who do you root for? haha.
  18. Will this affect other teams being willing to do draft day deals with the Bears in the future? Well if you're the team trading down, you would definitely have worries. If you're trading up though, I think it would matter less. On the other hand if you're a GM whos traded successfully with the Bears in the past, are you going to let this event hold more weight than you're past dealings? So it may have its biggest effect on a team without a rapport with Angelo and the Bears.
  19. Slimeball? Incompentent maybe, but it doesn't seem like he was trying to work anyone over.
  20. Honestly, they just need to go BPA and there isn't a position I wouldn't take, other than QB (obviously with the way the draft is going a QB won't be BPA though, so its moot)
  21. Well one things for certain, I don't think Baltimore will deal with Chicago again. I do fail to see how it matters to them considering they were trading down even if they had wanted Jon Baldwin who was taken in their slot, KC would have still taken them at 27 (unless they wanted Baldwin but were willing to give up the pick to get an additional 4th, but I don't think that to be the case since CB was a much bigger need than WR). So they just paid lower slot money. Maybe he wanted to pay even less slot money and thats why he's upset, haha I don't know. On the other hand, I don't blame him for trying. Worth the off chance you get a pick out of the (non)deal.
  22. I think one could end up at G even. I think I remember Tice liking big lineman, across the board. Future LT - Williams - Future C - Carimi/Webb ??
  23. Yea, I don't know if this guy is a LT or TR, but if he was the best OL available, he was the right pick. Its not like we really have any OL position set in stone into the future.
  24. Gave Carimi, Solid Pick
  25. While there were some questionable looking fouls, there were a couple of questionable non-fouls. NBA refs can be biased, inconsistent, and outright terrible, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt if I don't have a replay to watch from a better angle. They'll miss some fouls and call some non-fouls.
