  1. If thats true regarding Wright, the Bears should wait till round 2 for WR and get him there, even trading up a bit if needed. 40 time is so overrated. There was talk of Wright sneaking ahead of Blackmon before the combine, so there's something there. The 40 yd dash is more a track event. As long as you have good footwork, which most reports says Wright has (maybe best in the draft) you can make yourself just as fast as a guy with an tenth less second on his 40. And if the other guy slows himself down an extra tenth second with poor footwork you have a 0.2 second swing (in relative terms) Sure Wright still has some size concerns, but he seems to have the insticts to go to the ball, which can be just as important. 2. That was a shirt they gave away to bleacher seats at select games last season, not sure if they can be bought though. It is a pretty sweet shirt though. I have two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. It was said, but needs repeating, "damnit Otto, you have Lupus" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Does Kosuke just like the city of Chicago? He had to have better offers than that right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'll take an impact offensive player at any position to help Jay, just don't overpay/over draft for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I agree not to throw too many resources at TE. That means I wouldn't trade a high pick or throw lots of money at a FA. But it still should be a higher priority than it was the past two years. Kellen Davis has the skillset, but after him its a blocking TE and two undrafted rookies. I think we can get a little better competition than that for Davis. Hindsight, the Olsen trade wasn't bad (we'll see what he gets as a FA), but was made for all the wrong reasons. I'm glad we have the extra pick, but we should have had a better TE plan than we did. 7. If those things about Ruskell are true I'm excited he will remain on our staff. Hes still employed by us and I dont see anyone else trying to sign him.
  8. Is it just me or does the rendering make it look like standing on the patio is going to be an experience similar to standing on a shingle roof? The angles on the rendering are terrible. Either that or its a terrible design.
  9. Dropping in to say I just got back from my first ever Hawks game and their games have to be the best atmosphere in Chicago sports. Awesome experience. Fun game to attend.
  10. Lol wut. Then every trade ever in any sport was a gimme.
  11. Wait, didnt we specifically make the point not to seek Wood trades at the deadline for respect of his desire to finish his career with the Cubs? Screw this, we could have a propsect to show for Wood leaving (if he does).
  12. I was really hoping for Kerry to be back, but I also figured it'd be team friendly terms. If its not gonna be team friendly, I'll get over it.
  13. Personally, I'll remember it as the year Carlos Pena played 1B I was only one off.
  14. Why wouldn't Rizzo? June at the latest. To steal an extra year of team control out of him, rather than waste one on a lost season. And spending all year mashing pcl is a year of wasted development. Hold a couple months to ensure hes not a super two, but he might as well be here if he's ready. Not on opening day, which was the entire damn point. Well if Rizzo plays from June on I don't think anyone is gonna remember 2011 as the year Brian LaHair played 1B

  16. Jay will be on his 5th OC in 6 years starting in 2013.
  17. Hoping we get a prospect too, but after this and finding out Reed got 1.5 im not understanding the front office here.
  18. You don't have to can Lovie, but his influence seems to extend a bit far. Why would he be involved with the GM search. Just make him GM.
  19. Well those guys havent been moved yet. If they are I trust its because we don't need them to compete (Marmol, Byrd) or we moved them for a great package, like the marshall deal. If Garza goes it is a lot less likely we are ready for 2013. Most other guys we can replace so if we upgrade organizational strength, all is well. Still, moving Garza could be the right move even if it sets us back a little short term.
  20. All we have to do to match 07/08 success is make the playoffs. We can still do that by 2013. The rest of this off season could change that, but no reason to start punting 2013 also.
  21. Dusty won't ruin him, he'll just use him as a LOOGY. Maybe dusty wont ruin him, just his value. Then we'll sign him back next offseason to a team friendly contract haha
  22. I suppose even that half year in the minors is worth it so they don't become super 2's once arbitration hits. Still dont like the Johnson sigining. Isn't there another junk 5th OF we can sign for about half the price and pretend he's a 4th OF?
  23. What moves have put off contending? Trading a relief pitcher who was going to become too expensive to be worth keeping in a year? I guess there have been non moves, but none of the moves will prevent us from being a contender. This is the worst move and its annoying and I dont understand it but its not preventing us from being a contender. Our lack of top end talent is doing that.
