It's just a weird game, because they don't really need to leverage AH against Chicago. They only need to leverage the state against itself. It's not like AH has the ability to back something like a bond offering the way the city can with the hotel tax (at least in theory). Yea they need to get into the nitty gritty of a property tax assessment deal, but they really can't do that without a more concrete plan that provides some benchmarks that the taxing municipalities can set a development offer upon. It's either entirely for optics, they actually want to stay in the city, or some 4D chess operating I can't comprehend. -

How did you eff up that quote to attribute it to me lol But it was viewed at the time as a weaker QB class. Hence why none went first overall even though Cleveland needed one (helped that Garrett was geberational-ish edge too).

Thats an incredibly generous 75th percentile projection. Might be a tad generous on the 25th, but that may depend on how you view Murray. His 75th should prob be more like a more turnover prone Rodgers. Mahomes 2.0 is like 98th percentile outcome imo.

Sounds like it's a village proposal and school districts still need to be on board too. I'm guessing the village board is incentived to make sure a development happens as ancillary revenue from other taxes will largely go to them and be more significant than their piece of the property tax. The school districts on the other hand get their entire pie from property tax. Yes a development with a larger assessed value could be a win, but understandably they have a lot more at stake at a favorable starting point in property tax assessment (among other issues, such as new housing, and thus new student population being part of proposed development) -
Lol I know it was 15 years ago, but passing standards haven't changed that much. 76 passer rating. 47 QBR. 6.0 Y/A. Bottom 5 in basically any efficency category except comp%, which has its limitations. But hey, it'd be the 5th most passing yardage in a Bears season in history... :shrug: (also most att)

I think I'd submit Bradford to turd list. Though he did win OROY, and he had a good comp%, he was pretty bad overall. I mean he did throw for over 3,500 yards, but not efficient. I guess it just depends like the turd scale. Top 5 Bears passing yardage could be a turd rookie with lots of throws. I actually think they could try and protect Caleb a bunch and ease him into a run heavy environment still. Do we measure Caleb mostly on counting stats or efficiency stats for 2024? Is a 2009 Jay Cutler year a successful rookie campaign?

Maybe. Obviously since they've moved to protecting both QBs and defenseless WRs, it should have helped young QB learning curves. Not sure of the exact date for that changeover. But so it's 3 turds out of what 10-12? (taking out the non QB1.1 years)

He backed up because he was turdy. Still started 7 games and sucked.

I mean, led the league in PA. So he wasn't very efficient. 21st in ANY/A. That's at least a little turdy. Others ANY/A ranked as rookies Couch: 33rd Vick : DNQ (2 starts) Carr: 35th Palmer : DNQ no snaps E Manning : DNQ but would have been last (7 starts) Also if they didn't qualify because they backed up and not injury, maybe they were turdy and being protected as rookies.

How far back did you go? Both Mannings were pretty turdy off top of my head. And actual busts too like Russell.

Even if you had them similarly, it's hard to put a price on even a small edge. Especially over the quality of prospect we're talking about (assuming consensus opinion). Maybe there should be a price you can put in a small edge, but practically speaking it's hard to separate a GM actually putting his name on that and separating logic from optics.

There's some truth to this, but it's slightly more complicated. Additional 2025 guarantees would have triggered if he was still on the roster. So it wasn't 39M just to make him walk away. It was also 39M to avoid another 37M guarantee next year. I know there's talk Pittsburgh wants an extension, but we'll see if that goes anywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if thats a Nov/Dec initiative, and then a lot could happen before rhen.

Simple. Their QB is Jared Goff. And even then, that's probably still a net positive for 2024 based on his contract, but once he gets a new contract, they'll become mired in QB hell.

I don't know exactly where they sit since a lot of the new contract details aren't up on OTC yet. But thet can make any move they want. They have flexibility to move a lot of hits, if they want. Realistically and based on how Poles has operated this is the last major move until heaybe hits up the post draft signing period. Maybe you'll see a 5-7M signing in that period, but I'd be surprised if any big contract, either via read or signing is coming. Though, I didn't expect a Allen type trade either, so what do I know really?

I mean, maybe it's just Justin as the backup too, but you either commit to Caleb as day 1 starter and he gets 100% of snaps or you committ to redshirting him a year and he doesn't see the field outside of an injury to the starter.
