He was something of an extreme in college, especially at USC. He hit a really good number of his plays quickly and in rhythm but when he extended plays he REALLY extended play length.
Yes, improvisation is and can be part of the package, but he also will need to get better at recognizing when he can. To some extent it's a risk/reward calc and you could get chaos ball like Josh Allen, but that first sack he took was an absolute killer and one he probably beat 9/10 at USC and is only gonna get 4/10 in the NFL. So he should taken the smaller loss and instead he risked the drive killer early.
All that said it was really the accuracy issues that hurt him today.
