    Wasnt Jaylons specific example a guy leaving to pick up his daughter from school? Obviously maybe there's other examples that Caleb could fall under. But at the same time unverified reports love the most salacious rumors. Caleb being the problem would generate the most clicks and attention so who knows if it's true click bait, actual truth, or some combo.

    I mean based on what we've seen of him this year, he wasn't holding out. I said at the time, but too many people were treating his contract as the egregious underpay that had to be remedied. And really the only reason people thought that was because his dead cap hits had been erased during the trade and sat in Carolinas books. He was under a pretty normal contract structure and payment schedule that plenty of good players play on into years 3+ of a deal.

    There's certainly been no shortage of criticisms on play scheme from the "pro tape watchers" on social media. Hopefully there's real scheme issues that can.be fixed simply. Although it's not like Thomas didn't have a role in scheme design already. So we have to hope his best ideas were being muted or just not transferred into play calling. Wonder if Thomas will just reign in some of the decision making for Caleb. An early theme in the season has always been that Caleb was being asked to do stuff even many veteran QBs struggle with. Maybe Thomas pulls a McVay and is in his new QBs ear and dictating a lot more. Simplify everything and treat him like a rookie.

    I can't remember the Bears ever firing any coach mid-season that wasn't an HR issue like last year. Maybe it will be a sign of change and Flus won't last the whole year as a lame duck. Only question in if it's Poles who's taking charge to admit his mistake or Warren flexes for the first real time.

    Hosting a neighborly chili cook off Sunday. Going with extra beans in mine so everyones flatuance distracts them from the gut wrenching experience of watching Bears football.

    It's something Belicheck would do but I have little doubt he'd actually beleive it and stick to it. Or frankly, much smaller things would have kept him benched long before that. Feels like it's guaranteed to be performative from this staff. Like nearly the entire secondary does stuff where YEA I'm not surprised something like that happened evemtually. But they are the best talent in the team. So is it important or not?

    I only am annoyed because of Poles Hard Knocks comment lol If I never knew there was actual interest in him and that Poles anchor value for him was a 4th the Velus experiment ending would practically be non-news. Knowing Poles valued him that high 8 weeks ago was hilarious, but I wanted to be proven wrong on that.

    The tough schedule is a whole heck a lot of the division being tough. Which it is. But also the way people measure SOS (winning%) will come down as the division plays games against each other. So it's hard but they also have a 2x chance against most of what's making the schedule hard and will have an outsized impact in playoff odds. Sooo, meh?

    There's a real lack of quality OL. If the cost was basically minimum salary, maybe someone would bite. Now that I'm looking at Davis's contract he does have per game bonuses. So there actually is minimal cost savings for Bears to cut him or make sure he's inactive each week. If they did cut him, not sure if he has offset language if anyone did sign him. Really crazy how bad he's been. Feels like whatever family issue he dealt with last year really made him lack desire to play.
