  1. I really thought it was an exaggeration, like "save his knee" from functioning. That just seems like an unreal outcome to that play. Knee dislocation is already a devastating injury, but arterial damage (plus probably nerve damage) is the scary oart Yea, but even nerve damage I would still normally associate with "fully functioning knee", not "take it off completely". The arterial damage i never even considered at least from a sports related injury.

  3. The only solution is to ban the forward pass from football.

  6. 6'3" with a neck like that is actually 5'10"
  7. I don’t know how “good” he actually is but I remember him having some good games last year for my fantasy team when Allen, Gates, etc were all out and he was Rivers only really target Job posting: For immediate permanent hire, Lake Forest, IL. Must be comfortable working with antiquated systems. Our company is a traditional firm looking to manage changing business environment. Experience working independently required. Ideal candidate will be able to adequately handle large amounts of work typically delegated to 3 or more positions. Pay: Entry level
  8. Someone on Realgm posted some video from him I think dated Oct 17 or thereabouts, and he definitely looked messed up. Edit -nevermind, didn't actually click on the TMZ link. That's definitely what they are referencing
  9. Respect the GOAT
  10. Intra-game tanking 38 30 24 20 Nice.
  11. They were eliminated so Joe could speak freely.
  12. I mean, obviously the difference in 90.1 and 88.8 is probably a rounding error and PFF is looking more at fundamentals than outcome, but it's pretty funny to have 150 return yards and two TDs and be the second highest rated at your position ON YOUR OWN TEAM for that week.
  13. Or maybe some lowball two year extension offer where Fox gets the hint and "retires"?
  14. The saving grace of a John Fox saves his job scenario is he's old with past heart issues, so he's maybe still not in it for the long haul, and hopefully we still get a better coach with prime Trubisky.
  15. My assessment of Pace is based on W-L at this point. If they end up around .500, it's probably a little behind where I'd had optimistically hoped they'd be, but still a passing grade. If they're 6-10, he'll have basically just been stagnant for 3 years. Yea you can point to a young core, including a young QB and claim it's 6-10 with a brighter future than 3 years ago but if those young guys aren't producing wins, you're doing something else critically wrong that is a big issue.
  16. I mean, not necessarily. I guess if it was me I just wouldnt want the appearance that I'm not 100% in. I personally would not like it, but that doesnt make it wrong. I guess its clear that there isnt a rule against signing a coach who is about to be coaching a WS, so I was basically asking if they were violating an unwritten rule. Is there any recent precedent? I cant remember seeing it happen before. Can't remember the last time it happened in baseball. In the NFL last year, and in the NBA in 2016, Shannahan and Walton were hired to the surprise of absolutely no one the day after their respective teams lost in the SB/finals. Is that situation any better/different?
  17. This all happened so quick, I didn't even know it happened originally. I really haven't paid much attention to ESPN in years though.
  18. I'm not sure how this is possible since every division has a 2nd place team at least 1 game over .500 while the Bears are 1 game below, and they're 1-4 against other NFC teams. I wasn't taking tiebreakers into the equation. Eh, even without tiebreakers, that's one game out with like 4 teams in between.
  19. It can't be understated how weird that game was though. The Panthers used 5 drives to take up over 1/2 the game (31:05) and ended up down 3-14 directly from those drives. The Bears two longest drives were about 3:30 each for a clock kill to end it, and a missed FG. Their other score was a relatively short 2:08 drive.
  20. The Cohen stuff has kinda been trending that way. Wright still looks like our best WR, low bar and all that that is...
  21. Already down pretty far with division conference the breakers with 2 of our 3 wins against the AFC. 9-7 probably doesn't get the Bears in the playoffs if I had to take a guess. I know it's way too early but I think the Bears are only a game out of a Wild Card spot if the season ended today. But the division/conference record could definitely hurt if it gets to a tiebreaker scenario. We still have 4 division games left - 2 against the crappy Lions, 1 against the Rodgers-less Pack, and the last week of the season against Minnesota who may have nothing to play for in that game. I know it's not likely to happen but it's nice to know that it's at least a remote possibility at this point of the season. So... 9 games left. Need 6 wins, 3 losses. 4 division. 3 conference. 2 non con. The two non cons are two of our easier games left other than SF (Cin, Cle). Lets say split division and 1-2 in the other (NO, SF, PHI) So 9-7, 2-4 division, 2-4 conference, 4-0 non con. Now maybe we blow an easier (Cle, Cin, or SF) game or two and go 9-7 by cleaning up in the remaining division games, but to end up in a good division/conference record for tie breaker, we'd be a decent bet to finish even better than 9-7. Our division is looking pretty average and 9-7 could win it, but may be a tie breaker scenario, which a team like Minny currently has the upper hand on. Limping in at a division winning 9-7 where we never throw more than 20 passes a game the rest of the season would be a pretty Bears-type season though. I'll take the under on a .500 record though.
  22. You'd probably have to make Fangio the head coach right? Wasn't that why he left SF after Harbaugh left? Wasn't he on the outs anyways. Though Gase wanted to retain him, and that's when they decided to pass on Gase, and promote the guy from under Fangio. Anyways, I really have no qualms about losing Fangio if it means moving on from Fox. If he's still under contract you can keep him until the new HC decides to fire him, but he shouldn't be a consideration if you're making coaching staff changes.
