    Yea. I do think there's an argument that the NL is at least attractive in the sense that you're guaranteed to hit every few days instead of a manager/GM deciding to never let you hit again after half a season. That's how I've always viewed it. If an AL team is willing to commit to him (scary) then he goes there. If not, its likely an NL team. What's that commitment worth, especially if it's a supposedly contending team? It's basically just words. Theres not a ton of room for a developmental DH.

    Yeesh The gould thing was all about saving money, right? They were tanking, knew they were bad and didn't see the need in paying top dollar for a kicker. That and I think there was a feeling he was entering "lockerroom" distraction territory, which seems incredibly silly that a K might upend your locker room, but he was basically one of the last of the old guard at that time, so I think both sides were basically ready to split.

    I think a reason for that is him learning how to take the snap under center and drop back and plant his feet before throwing. He’s used to shotgun 95% of the time and that’s a whole different rhythm to throwing. Once he gets more comfortable dropping back I think his accuracy goes up. You heard the announcers today point out several times which foot he was planting before throwing. That said I haven’t seen many perfectly placed throws (Though I might be remembering poorly) You’d hope to see more flashes of that. Beyond the mechanics of the dropback, I think he isn't processing D's fast enough to set his feet and make accurate throws.

In case anyone was curios as to the split of passes by situation.... obviously not necessarily great context without comparison against total plays by situation and league avg. figures. No I'm not going to do that, done geeking out.

    Just looking at the stats, Mitch's comp% and sack rate would both be REALLY big causes for concern if I didn't have context of him primarily passing out of 3rd and mid-long situations. Having that context it's still a little concerning. ETA- With benefit of my below post - Mitch can't blame his woes on being forced into third and long entirely. But, stop making negative/short plays on first down jagoffs.

    80 14-25, 255 yds, 2 TD, 1 int = 80.17 season (101.25 game) 90 27-35, 375 yds, 3 TD, 0 Int =90.5 for season (139.58 game) Passer rating is dumb.

    I'd be all for a Rd1 lineman if the value is right. Also Grasu has to go IMO. You can't have your backup C unable to play G, and Whiteside needs to be given the reigns at C and stay there. I'm of the mindset you should be adding a young lineman every year. Not sure if they think anything of Morgan or not...

    This just means theres no interest in Fangio as HC either, so there's no use for the trial period.

    I've always been take it or leave it with him. There's nothing special about him. He's not a mastermind. He is a competent DC. He is replaceable. Get the head coaching and offensive coaches right. Yeah, starting to agree. Fangio is easily replacec. I just wouldnt bring in a dc that's going to change the scheme dramatically. Of the guys who actually matter on the D who really can't adapt. As long as you aren't running an old 2 gap scheme, which... How many teams even run that anymore, I think our guys can adapt fine. And the ones who can't can be replaced.

    Yes, no positive way to spin 29 losses in a little over 2.5 years. ETA 8 of 12 wins also by one score or less. Generously call all 25 of those games toss ups and normalize to .500 16.5 - 23.5 record? Yay?

    I'm not worried about the front. I feel pretty certain Floyd, Hicks, McPhee, and Goldman can play in a 4-3 front. 50% of the time you're dropping a LB anyways and in a 42 front which is basically our nickel front with the difference if the ends are in a 2 PT or 3 PT stance.

    Oh come on, it's pretty disingenuous to try and boil it down to one throw like that. If Mitchell Trubisky throws a better pass the preceding play, we aren't talking about Inmans drop. So I guess it cuts both ways. As it is Trubisky is the best QB on our roster and honestly further along than I thought he'd be in May. So I hope he keeps it up, but he can be both a average to slightly below average NFL QB right now and still hold a lot of promise, which I think he does because his issues don't seem glaring to me, and better coaching a little better supporting cast can probably take care of a lot if it. It was still at best an average pass to Inman at the end. Id agree with that being an average throw, but people are acting like Inman is dead because Trubisky laid him out and never should have thrown the ball. All the Hundley was so much better [expletive]. I mean, our defense couldn’t stop jr varsity NFL roster. 1) coaching Theres your horsefeathering issue He should have thrown it, probably just a millisecond sooner and a foot lower. I mean, I'm sure he didn't mean to throw it that high, but maybe Inmans neck confused Trubisky on his actual catch radius. Inman should have caught it, and the D should have had hem in a much better spot.

    Well that's not true. He's not very good at reading D's yet. Most spread college QBs aren't halfway through their rookie season though, so he's got time.     i'd start talking new contract with him and his agent, see what the parameters are. Inman, Meredith look like two # 2's. Draft early in the 1-2 rounds a speedster route runner type and dump White. They aren't dumping White. His contract is guaranteed for 5M+. Might as well hang on to him and hope he plays like the 7th overall player from the draft. He definitely should be at camp, but I'd be really worried if he wins a top 5 WR job by default because it would mean they didn't address the position.
