  1. He's got a ways to catch Cedeno's .957. doesn't matter... you don't bench a guy OPS'ing .893. But you bench the guy who's OPS'ing .957? Considering the first guy has way more ABs, yes. Screw that. Theriot just had a lucky/hot weekend. Cedeno is turning the corner for his career. (That's only half tongue in cheek. I really, really like the approach I've seen from Ronny)....
  2. I just looked on ESPN.com, because it seems like a ridiculous amount of Ronny's hits have been big in terms of RBIs... ...Ronny, who has played in 13/20 games and has only 29 ABs this year, is nevertheless on pace for 155 RBI (in 346 AB)... I don't even need to say how obvious it is that he won't keep that up, but that rate is far beyond absurd.
  3. I'm pretty sure I had heard that he was slated to start tomorrow, anyway. It'll be nice to see a few PAs (ha, Pies) from him tomorrow.
  4. I haven't been this excited watching an April game since the Barrett grand slam game in 06. Might have something to do with the fact that both were on ESPN (I hate the announcers but I love the visuals/production so much). Either way, awesome.
  5. LOL did anyone see Ronny's impression of Lou when they cut to him and Z messing around in the dugout?
  6. I don't find there to be that much pessimism in this thread *shrug*, but the funny thing is, if anything, I'd consider the bolded to be reason for pessimism, not optimism.
  7. The fact that he's "only" on pace for 67 makes what Bonds (and McGwire) did seem that much more absurd.
  8. Is second in MLB with 98 runs scored Is 4th in MLB with 74 walks Is 5th in MLB (3rd in NL) with a .353 OBP Post some more of these insane oddities...
  9. lol at thinking that Mulder or Carpenter will do anything this year... or, in Mulder's case, ever, for that matter...
  10. Even Neifi and Macias had good days in the lineup. That did not justify continuing to trot them out in the starting lineup on a daily basis. Everyone in the Cubs' starting lineup today is having a substantially better season than Neifi and Macias ever did, except for Aramis, who we all know is better than he's played, and Theriot, who would probably be in there anyway. I want Murton in the starting lineup too, but the way Ronny's hitting I'm fine with him in there and DeRosa in LF. That's just the result of the totally arbitrary fact that the season is like 2-3 weeks old. I'm sure Neifi was having a season that good this early at some point, too. Wasn't he tearing the cover off the ball in April 05? That didn't make it a good decision to start him all the time. As much as I want Ronny to start at SS over Theriot, if Theriot is firmly entrenched at SS, I'm not OK with Cedeno getting time over Murton. Cliffs - Murton > Cedeno, despite my desire to have Cedeno start at SS (which will inevitably go unfulfilled for the time being)...
  11. OK, I guess we should go with Ward at 1B. He was way better than DLee today. Or maybe we shouldn't base such decisions on one game. Um, it was a blowout, guys were gonna come out of the game, obviously. If the starting lineup, ain't broke, don't fix it. Better? No.

  13. Lou is going with the same lineup tomorrow. Murton says, "Hello?"
  14. I gotta say.. I REALLY REALLY like most of our everyday lineup... The patient and quality PAs are a beautiful thing to watch. It's freaking refreshing.
  15. yay riot... keep playing over your head!
  16. I'm just going to pretend that the lineup is DeRosa Fukudome Lee Ramirez Soto Murton Cedeno Pie or some variation of that... I'll be much happier that way.
  17. Their "source" on that report was the friggin Chicago Sun-Times. All Rotoworld really does is take what the papers and big sites are saying and put them all in one little neat place.
  18. I want to rickroll it so bad... but I'll refrain ya, you prolly should take your number down.
  19. do the reds have fans? lol
