  1. http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=102458 LOL of course some Sox fans are pissed that Aramis got picked over Crede. Some. I'll give them credit, as they're not all that stupid (actually, most of them aren't, to be fair). It cracks me up how delusional a lot of Sox fans are with their man-crushes on a completely mediocre 3B like Joe Crede (granted, he's having a solid year so far this year). The other one I don't get is how people just say that AJP is better than Soto because Soto is a rookie, despite the fact that Soto is outperforming him by a mile.
  2. If you want to make the same mistake Ed Lynch did in 1998, sure. Millions of Cub fans are going to be shocked to learn that the Cubs won the WS in 1998. Damn.
  3. Seriously, you have to understand why people look at Marquis and Gallagher differently when evaluating their performances (I've noticed you touching on this in the game threads too, not just in this post). There's a huge difference in context between the performance of an overpaid, journeyman, 30ish pitcher who has never proven to be anything much better than average and the performance of a 22 year old making the league minimum who was just called up and is about to make his 8th major league start. The bias on here in looking at the two is completely justified, IMO, and I know you know that so I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make.
  4. If you want to make the same mistake Ed Lynch did in 1998, sure.
  5. How old are you?
  6. Why does everyone always talk about the Yankees like they go out and get everyone? What was the last major acquisition they made? ARod over 4 years ago? Am I mistaken?
  7. I've heard the Simpsons version of that song a million times. Never actually heard the real version (even though I knew the Simpsons one was obviously a parody)...
  8. Important players won't play. Nice. Too bad they couldn't get a real day off, but it's better than having em out there.
  9. Yeah, because when Soriano is taken out of the leadoff spot, he's produced so well. I still say that Soriano's splits have little to do with lineup positioning, RISP, or anything else that has been examined in an attempt to prove why he's best off hitting leadoff. His splits are strictly insanely hot vs. cold. That said, I have no problem with Soriano hitting leadoff having a ~.900 OPS guy getting the most PAs on the team.
  10. I find it hilarious that you incorporate the Soriano argument into pretty much EVERY post you make. This thread has nothing to do with Soriano. thx What I find hilarious is that when he insisted Piniella and Hendry wanted Roberts because they knew that Soriano wasn't a leadoff hitter, Piniella was infallible in his argument and he insisted that he was right JUST BECAUSE Lou and Hendry apparently agreed with him. Now that Piniella is actually doing something wrigley doesn't agree with, it's incorrect and he can do wrong.
  11. lol LLF actually posted something not worthless
  12. Who on earth decided it was cool to wear these damn flat-brimmed hats. It's not. WORST trend ever.
  13. some NWS language oh, and it's not real (for those who couldn't figure that out)
  14. The Brewers will finish ahead of the Cardinals. The only reason to scoreboard watch the Cardinals is out of pure hatred for them. I still don't understand why people keep saying this. Kyle Lohse just shut down maybe the NL's best offense today, and the Cards are getting production from random scrubs like skip schumaker and brian barton and they still haven't "come back down to earth". I want the losers to fold as much as the next guy, but I don't see it happening. I just don't. Precisely why they will fold. Hopefully your sports forecasting skills are as good as your weather/rain-out predicting skills.
  15. I'm really not worried about any of them. Only reason I'm watching the Cards is to see that gap widen up a bit more. The Brewers honestly don't worry me very much. I don't see them outperforming us by ~ 8 games the rest of the way, but I guess anything is possible.
  16. Are people still scoreboard watching anyone but the Cardinals? Really? That said, I almost think we'd be better off if the Cardinals beat the Phils, as we may well be battling the Phils for home field when it's all said and done, which will be huge. I'm not rooting for the Cards, but it's win-win either way in that series.
  17. Hawk got way too excited about that hit.
  18. Title = irony
  19. lol back to back jacks... coco crisp
  20. Is it just me or do Pedroia's mannerisms look a lot like Matt Murton's?
  21. Your Reed Johnson display was worse. At least it's true that Theriot wouldn't have had a chance in hell of making that play. Johnson having power? Not so true.
  22. I wish Marquis could actually learn how to pitch consistently because he actually has pretty damn good stuff.
  23. Hey guys remember when the ump robbed Z of a no-hitter in Arizona on the blown call at first? Yea, that really pissed me off.
