  1. Only the 3rd or 4th ball he's crushed today, haha...
  2. David and PrimeTime's avatars always un-depress me Who is that in Prime's avatar, by the way? Lucy Pinder..English model..check out a whole body shot..Theyre quite delicious Thanks. I can't stand up for a good 5 minutes now. ](*,)
  3. What just happened? Theriot GIDP?
  4. David and PrimeTime's avatars always un-depress me Glad I can help. Although you sig's are way too small Blame Tim for that one.
  5. It's sort of annoying when you know you have basically no hope of a HR with certain guys up at the plate.
  6. David and PrimeTime's avatars always un-depress me Glad I can help.
  7. Ugh. Lilly is hitting for himself.
  8. Jason Marquis. Should be fun. Definitely, with his 1.96 ERA in June. Let's not be hypocrites here. Just like we know that this lineup doesn't suck despite it's recent struggles, we also know that Marquis does suck despite his recent success. Ok, fine, he doesn't suck. He's just insanely mediocre.
  9. Where are you going with this? Swisher isn't that bad of a player. He just likes posting dumb stuff because it pisses us off.
  10. hahaha remember that thread in like January where DeuceBaseman was trying to convince everyone that his study proved that you get to 1B faster on a slide than running through... While the study was obviously completely useless, I believe the arguement has merits. I remember thinking the same, but the "study" he based it on was hilarious.. like 5 or 6 guys he "timed" with his stopwatch or something.

  12. A lot of the hate on our own players on a team that's actually very good is irritating. But it's "venting."
  13. Lee has actually hit two balls very hard today. And he's been taking walks again lately.
  14. Its really not. Most of these players have been part of a terrible offensive lineup for more than a couple of years, and I thought it was more irrational to think they'd all become OBP machines for a whole season after decades of not knowing what the acronym meant. Soto and Fukudome. Ramirez is the only one of the "old" guys who has shown markedly better patience. The team is still working pitchers very well and there's no reason (up till now) to think that it's going to stop anytime soon. The way they worked Kazmir out of the game despite not being able to hit him was a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, that game just didn't work out for us. I have a feeling the panic around here would be a lot more subdued had Carlos Marmol not thought that home plate was a foot to the left of where it was yesterday. The whole Z thing obviously is looming over us, though.
  15. Pat fooled me there. I thought it was gone.
  16. Why? We're usually down, that's easy to deal with. Being up is unusual, and it makes us nervous. Valid...makes sense. But to me it's more like, "Wow, we're actually pretty good." I'm more relaxed this year and find myself looking at the big picture a lot more. Not me. I'm more fired up this year than ever. I am pissed even if we're only up by a run or two. I guess I just feel that this is the closest we're ever going to get to having a WS-caliber team, and this is our only chance for another 20 years or so. The time to win the WS is that crapshoot in October. I don't think anyone should be very worried about making it there (and it's quite likely we'll have HFA, too), barring major injuries (in which case, our chances would be significantly diminished anyways). I certainly want to win more games than any team in the National League, but I'm not going to freak when we hit a 4-5 game losing streak (which is almost inevitable over the course of 162 games). I guess I'm beating a dead horse, though.
  17. That's why Crede is better than Aramis I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. Very sarcastic Good. I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and go off on you then.

  19. This drives me crazy. I want Z to be ok too but its not dependent on how the team does. If he's hurt, he's hurt. We've got to get back to winning. If Z's ok and we lose, I'm still pissed. The best I have ever felt after a loss is when we got Nomar 2 minutes after it. That went well, didn't it. The most talented Cubs team I have ever seen (up till this one, probably)... just ran out of gas at the end or something. Let's just not talk about what happened after that, actually.

  22. You would really think Cubs fans would be able to handle the ups and downs of a 162 game season better than this.... ...now, if Z is out for any significant amount of time, I will be throwing things (or at least yelling swear words or something).
