  1. loooooooooooooooooooooool He HAS to be an alt-nick... HAS TO BE
  2. What inning was the explosion against the Sox? I was at that one.
  3. I was actually about to point out the opposite. How it was funny nobody had posted a thing about Theriot being pulled, other than a lurker in the post game thread out of nowhere. If it had been Harden or Ramirez or Soto or basically anyone else, there probably would've been a thread up immediately. Just kind of funny.
  4. Was it a fastball? I actually called fastball - HR on Young.
  5. Fixed. Sori had a nice game too. :)
  6. All this team really needs next year, lineup wise, is an .800 OPS bat to replace Edmonds next year in some form or another. But I get what you're saying.
  7. just admit it, dunn is good. ? I've never said he isn't and I'd gladly take him. I just would rather have a player that passes both the stats test AND the eye test. *shrug*
  8. I love when they wipe our angst away with such authority (at least for one game)
  9. K Rod would be great. CCs going to th Dodgers. He wants to play there, they have the need, and they have the money. I dont see us going after Sheets. Too many teams will be after him, and we already have one pitcher that makes me bite my nails every time the take him out of the game. Imagining Marmol to Wood to K Rod brings chills. Again, its all moot, as he will not be leavin Annaheim. Because giving relievers huge amounts of money is a great idea.
  10. I am really mixed in my feelings on Dunn. He has to be the most polarizing player in baseball. He is probably only player with numbers that good who fails the eye test that badly. He's so hilariously terrible in the outfield, and while I don't really care about BA, it still bugs the hell out of my instincts to see a guy hitting .240. Hard to explain. Also, it's not like OBP (or SLG) are undervalued these days. Cubs win!
  11. I think sometimes LLF does that on purpose. I honestly couldn't have come up with a worse offseason plan if I tried. Well, maybe giving Sheets an 8 year 116 million dollar deal... ?
  12. We'll definitely re-sign him next year, probably try the platoon with Pie out again. He may not be Carlos Quentin or Josh Hamilton, but he was one hell of a pick up off the trash heap. He's maintaining his solid numbers against lefties, and that's good enough for me. I'd rather Fukudome gets moved to center for a platoon so that a big bat can be added as a corner OFer to slide into the #3 slot and Lee hits #2 or #5. It all depends on whats available and how much Mr. Cuban wants to spend. Personally, Id like the put all our free agency eggs in 1 basket this offseason and go after K-Rod, however, I dont think the Angels will let him go. He'll get a record shattering contract for a reliever for sure. That is seriously way beyond the last thing we should even consider doing.
  13. I take it youve given up on Pie? I was never very high on his approach/hitting style. I know he has produced at every level but even in the minors, he is not exactly my kind of player. That said, I'd be glad to see him get a solid shot to play for once, but I'd be even more glad to have a really good player (but not some crappy vet) take that opportunity away.
  14. Are there any major corner OFers (other than Manny) going FA this year? I haven't heard much. But it would be nice to move Fuku to CF (if he's willing) and get a .900 OPS bat in RF. If Fuku takes a leap in power next year - icing on the cake.
  15. good, so when we win this game we'll have another thing to erase 2004 from memory. that team broke my spirit even more than the 2003 team. Same. I still remember skipping class, sitting in my room and watching those games against the Reds wondering WTF was going on... We couldn't score a damn run. And then the games went into extras which made them even more excruciating. I believe Prior was owning in one of them. I remember going into the Braves series like 3 games out, hoping for double sweeps.
  16. I was thinking the same thing, but didn't feel like being a jerk and pointing it out. I decided to be a jerk and point out how it doesn't even matter to me anyway.
  17. It's basically "swingbattabattaswingbattabatta-DOOT-DOOT-DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT-wickey-wickey-DOOO-DOOO-DOOOOOOOOOOO!!" hahhahahahahahhahah wow i seriously loled
  18. and on the other side, I wish WGN would do something about their hideous graphics I don't mind them... but blue is my favorite color.
  19. FWIW, he was sort of a victim of bad timing, too. He probably would've used that money on Beltran or someone else better had he had the opportunity earlier. It seemed MacPhail and/or the Trib was unwilling to OK monster contracts. That's not to excuse his poor allocation of resources otherwise, though.
  20. lol remember in April when people thought Soriano had forgotten how to hit? He had 2 HR and a .577 OPS
  21. He'll just say that he should be doing all that in the 5 spot. And then he'd go off about how the team needs a leadoff hitter.
  22. wtf i have never seen IMB use a smiley
  23. For the record, it's August... not April or May...
  24. Can someone remind me real quick what game (or at least what series) the Aramis epic bat toss happened? In case that isn't descriptive enough, it was the monster shot that looked like it might go foul...
