  1. I seriously think they were just looking for some more filler on that CD. I can not ever recall hearing that song at Wrigley... I'm sure they've played it once or twice at some point, but not that I can recall. On the other hand, Walkin on Sunshine and Get Down Tonight have been Wrigley fixtures at one time or another. YMCA during pitching changes too. Now, I've heard it a million times at the UC.
  2. I would have agreed with you all the way up until the point where we got shutout by him last month. Now I'm petrified of him again. Except we were crushing the ball off him all game. Just a bad night.
  3. lol at Randy Johnson being referred to as a "nightmare" I don't care what his record against the Cubs of the past 10 years is. He's not that good anymore. He's had a nice run for a little over a month, but I'll take my chances with whoever we'd have facing him.
  4. Damn you. I still always feel like I'm one of the youngest people around. Makin me feel old.
  5. Bring it back!!! It's just not the same with the Cubs running out on the field to "Runnin' Down a Dream" or "It's a Beautiful Day." The two main songs I affiliate with the Cubs the most are "Jump" and The Romantics "What I like about You" Why?? I highly associate that with the 90's Bulls, but not the Cubs at all. Was it something before my time?
  6. Ok, see your point, but as for symbolism....it's got it. another symbolic song: Patience by GNR Right band, but wrong song: Welcome to the Jungle. That's already Woody's entrance music
  7. Ok, see your point, but as for symbolism....it's got it. another symbolic song: Patience by GNR said sugar, make it slow and we come together fine
  8. I GOT SOUL BUT I'M NOT A SOLDIER
  9. I can't disagree with Van Halen (except Jump!)
  10. Webcam should be up now, fyi
  11. I've been hooked on brats since I decided to get one for the first time in years at the last game in Milwaukee...
  12. Any Way You Want It? Seriously though, how funny would it be to steal the White Sox song for our own potential championship? It would only work if we actually one it, otherwise we'd look like huge morons. If we played them in the WS, it would take on 2003 tomahawk chop levels of epicness.
  13. just kidding, I still think livin on a prayer is the best choice.
  14. Is that the Karate Kid song? How about Eye of the Tiger?
  15. How untrue. 80's was the last great decade in music. It's all the hairspray and makeup and stuff that makes it bad. I love excessively self-indulgent guitar solos (not being sarcastic).
  16. but, by definition, all 80's rock is bad...even when it's good
  17. i thought you said it had to be a bad song. I'm not gonna lie, I lied about the bad part so you guys wouldn't laugh at me
  18. I nominate Livin' on a Prayer
  19. Good points. Brings a VERY HYPOTHETICAL Q to mind. As a cubs fan, what would you prefer: Option 1- Cubs lose a hard fought series in the NLCS to either the Mets or the Phillies (say a well played 7 games). Option 2- Cubs win the NLCS and make it to the world series, but are swept by the White Sox. Option 2. Without even thinking twice about it.
  20. It would be a lot of pressure vs. anybody, though. The reason he gave was that it has been 100 years and they just won one. Any of the teams we'd potentially face in the WS would have a fairly recent championship under their belts, except the Rays, obviously. If the Twins made it, them too, but it's only been like 20 years or so for them. Not that I buy into any of it.
  21. The Cubs and Phillies actually did play a 23-22 game on May 17, 1979, but the Phillies won it. http://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=197905170CHN THAT'S TOTALLY NEW INFORMATION TO ME. i loled
