Why are you not enjoying this? I hate the people that call out those that are negative, because I am that way well over half the time, but your thoughts about this team seem to be particularly negative. Teams slump all the time. The Cubs have done it several times this year, only to bounce back and score 7-8 runs for a good stretch. I just hate it when we are losing, it chews up my insides. Believe me Ive enjoyed this season a great deal. I love this team, probably the best in my lifetime. I just hate it when they go long stretches without scoring. like less than 24 hours? seriously, ease up. -

you're right, we should score 5.5 runs every game since we average that. i guess i can't blame you for not having a clue what a good baseball team looks like, though.

Not an error because you can't assume the DP. The run scored from third but the ball didn't get away far enough to allow Ward to advance a base (if it had gotten away an error would have been recorded). The ball would have to end up in Evanston for Ward to advance a base. Have you ever been to Evanston? It's not that far from Wrigley.

FWIW, Blanco caught Harden's other wild start vs. Atlanta. I'm not big on the catcher ERA or the whole giving catchers a ton of credit for a pitcher's performance idea, but is it possible that Geo has a better feel for calling a Harden game? Could also easily be a coincidence.

I can dig up plenty of games where the 1927 Yankees were shutdown by mediocre to poor pitching You can be "inconsistent" while being "relatively consistent" at the same time. His definition of consistency obviously differs from yours. His definitely of consistency is completely unrealistic and unachievable by any baseball team.

have you watched the cubs at all this year? jesus Yeah, I know what our inconsistent offense can do. The only reason we were able to do anything last night is because we finally got to thier bulpen. We have been completely shut down by much worse pitchers than Blanton. We'll also be lucky if we get 5 innings out of Harden today. looooool
