  1. lol when bunt singles work they look like they could be successful 100% of the time
  2. j/k awesome vid
  3. um, excuse me, but the term is "Aramabomb"
  4. http://mlb.fanhouse.com/2008/08/07/the-dugout-allow-cuban-to-buy-the-cubs-or-suffer-the-consequenc/ Just found this... had you guys seen it?
  5. Lee's tendency to ground out to the left side of the infield is starting to remind me of Moises.
  6. My uncle does that with the Braves...but the whole family thinks he's a lunatic. Anyway, what if we took a page from the brewerfan.net book and made a Vent thread for all of those posters to post their irrational overreactions. It'd be nice to be able to actually discuss the game without all that.
  7. When you're with your friends watching the game, do you have the time it takes to type out a post and hit the Submit button to react? Or do you just react right away. And when you're out watching the game at the bar and the Cubs give up a few runs in game 130-something, do you melt down, declare that NLCS-caliber teams don't lose to the Nationals and have a hissy fit? Think about how many great posters there are at NSBB. Think about how many of them used to post in game threads during games. Now think about how many of them still post in game threads. Much, much fewer. It's a shame. I don't come to game threads to see how other people react when something happens in the game. I come for analysis and maybe updates. I didn't have access to the game for an hour during work (couldn't listen and Gameday was crashing on my work comp) and I actually chose to not know what was going on in the game rather than have to wade in here. This. When I'm watching the game with my friends, you can be sure as hell I'm not like yelling out a bunch of nonsense about the team or players sucking like some lunatic. I usually roll my eyes at the people who do. In fact, those people frustrate me a lot more than the game, lulz. Hey, just like the game threads....
  8. Probably the nearest college campus to most of them. Still.. just a 15 minute el-ride north and they're at DePaul, where the selection is far better, IMO. Hell, Loyola is even closer and has a great ratio (not that professional football players need to worry about that)...
  9. Ha... In 05 he was banging some very average Asian girl I knew from Northwestern. Now he could conceivably have a shot with LiLo (or maybe a 3-some with that DJ chick)... But yea, it would be an upgrade, trust me. And that's not saying as much about Lohan as it is about this other chick. I still don't know WTH he was thinking. This is true. The Bears came to NU on a Monday night (which is a bar night at northwestern) and then drove from the bars to campus drunk and chilled in my dorm. Joe Odom swiped a girl in my dorm's V-card. Humming the NFL on FOX theme every time I passed her never got old (unless we were playing an AFC team, then it was the CBS song) I think we've talked about this before, but I still don't understand why they would pick NU, of all spots, to pick up girls. I would party a lot there (my good friend from HS went there) and selection was (predictably) usually really weak. I guess it's cause it's in the suburbs, which is where most of them live.
  10. I'm confused. You talk about strikeouts to hits, but then all you reference is strikeouts per inning pitched. And how do you come up with a 50/50 chance? I was thinking the same thing. Do you mean more strikeouts than hits allowed or more strikeouts than innings pitched?
  11. My first post is pretty ironic, given that Geo seems to have gained a good amount of weight. I remembered him looking real lean in ST 07.
  12. haha i didn't even remember that i started this thread.
  13. Well, to be fair, it was a really ugly game and the frustration of one of our best pitchers continuing to get shelled (and by a crappy team, no less) didn't help. Still a lot of overreaction and stuff, but I don't think it's nearly as bad as the ones from last week.
  14. It sucks that this season has to end. It would be so crappy if this didn't end the way we want it to, and there's a better than decent chance of that happening.
  15. ...and that team played in a watered down league, as a lot of the biggest stars were at war.
  16. YES! http://image.maniadb.com/images/album/178/178845_1_f.jpg ...deep inside I hope you feeeelll it tooooo
  17. It almost sucks to have them loaded now.
