Sooo with the opener a week away, are we going to set a rotation? I noticed that last year, the starters thread was started pretty last minute on April 1st, but in years prior it was started way before, so I figured I'd put this out there. If this counts, count me in. Guess I'll toss in the usual stuff... Starters will go in the order they sign up. Starters will start game threads until a game that they start is lost. This is for regular season games (as if there will be any other kind). If it is your turn to start, please have the game thread up by midnight the day before the game (8 am day of game for west coast games, as many west coast night games can go past midnight). If you will be unavailable to start (ex: out of town), leave a post. You won't lose your place if you get back before you come up and will simply wait at the top of the list until you do get back if you make it there. Guess I'll start a list. Again, I'm not sure if this will even be considered official. Looks like it. The #Mariners are moving closer to a trade for a young impact hitter, two baseball sources confirmed. It's a "significant trade,'' says one source. And Brandon League is not part of the return package. 6:36pm: The trade could involve Michael Pineda and Yankees prospect Jesus Montero, as Larry Stone of the Seattle Times has heard "rumblings in that direction" (Twitter link).

The 1984 discussion in the McD's thread is sort of making me want to buy this Cubs DVD set just to watch some of those older games/highlights. http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Cubs-Legends-Great-Collectors/dp/B000NO23ZS Anyone have it? Worth it? Any others that would be worth looking into? Maybe that 2008 documentary thing...did that ever come out? EDIT - that amazon link shows one called We Believe and another one called Forever Loyal as similar items. The 2008 might be one of these, I guess. Probably the We Believe one.

Things have slowed down a bit here lately so I figure we're all glad to take whatever we can get in terms of hot stove talk. Lots of stuff in here, didn't want to bury it in any one thread, especially when he's commenting on stuff all over the place. Just going to post some of the interesting answers. At least Levine seems to grasp this concept that the rest of our local journalists don't.
