Looks to be up and running http://wrigleyville.locals.baseballprospectus.com/ Hello BP Readers, It’s a new season not just for baseball, but for us here at Baseball Prospectus. Today we are extremely excited to announce the launch of three local Baseball Prospectus sites: BP Boston, BP Bronx, and BP Wrigleyville. Sports are innately local, and the idea behind these new Baseball Prospectus pages is to take all the writing, research, thought, and analysis that make BP great, and present it through a local lens. While the national page will continue to provide the innovative content you’ve come to expect, we now also have an amazing group of writers covering these teams. We are just getting started, but we believe these BP sites will become the best source of local baseball commentary, discussion, and analysis in each market. These are the first of many new enhancements to the BP experience. I hope you come along for the ride. We are incredibly excited to have you. Thanks, Jim Walsh

@BenBadler Wow. Must-read story/video on tech Cubs use to turn catchers into better framers: http://bit.ly/1I7T6jU Lots more at the link.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-01/the-chicago-cubs-finally-have-a-winning-business-plan Much more at the link. It's definitely a Ricketts fluff piece but still an interesting read.

(rather than have yet another thread labeled finish this sentence) Arrieta was better than Lester.

We all know it barely matters but it's still fun-ish to talk about. Maddon's been toying with a lot of things. Rizzo was at the 2 spot for a while, which I really liked, but I haven't seen him do it in a while. Now it looks like he's toying with the idea of Soler at #2. Whatever it ends up being, I'm really happy with Maddon's views on lineup construction. Also, Maddon loves him some Georgie. Don't we all? http://m.cubs.mlb.com/news/article/115288022/jorge-soler-could-be-maddons-man-in-2-spot

http://www.bleachernation.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/mike-olt-259x300.jpg So... is it possible he's a thing at all? I really, really want him to be. Of course, if he starts off this year as such, it's going to be hilarious trying to figure out what you do with Addison Russell. It's been mentioned before, but with the defense (at least where scouts rate it) where it is, and his approach + power combo, it seems within his grasp to be at least an average to slightly above average starter if he can successfully implement some tweaks, which it seems he may have. So hard to say when it's just spring training, though.

With Marlin saying we're going hard after both Shields and Lester, plus Wittenmyer having them both tops on our board, might as well have a thread for the Shields pursuit. Thought this was an interesting read http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/return-of-the-james-shields-changeup/

Bruce Levine @MLBBruceLevine 44s High ankle sprain for Castro . Minimum four weeks to return .

I feel like it would help a lot with clutter to have the embedded quotes limited to one...two at most. I've seen it set this way on other boards and it works really well, especially if there's a link to the post being replied to included with the quote (so that you can backtrack easily).
