  1. I'll be happy if he cracks 100 again in this run environment, but I sure miss the days of 130 RBI's being the norm for good hitters. the cubs know not of this run environment you speak of.
  2. can you have a career as a major league outfielder who occasionally catches without a meniscus? that's a really fast recovery if you remove it. and, as we saw with rose, it can present a lot more complications if you repair it. it's not like he needs to be jumping 40" soooo...
  3. I would think if there's meniscus damage or an MCL tear yes. But from what I understand repaired ACLs are often stronger than before after recovery. Also from experience as a sports fan, it might be 3-4 years until he can dunk again. Or at least until he hears from God.
  4. Yep. If you told me he'd be out 3-4 months and be back healthy in July or August, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Absolutely.
  5. damnit i played the song and i'm tearing up now we just lost so much swag
  6. Basically we need either Javy or Soler to pull their heads out of their asses and really figure out MLB if we want to be as obscenely dongerrific as we would've been. Even then, we'll still miss the full effect at AL parks and for Hammel starts. lol sidenote - chrome was picking out dongerrific as a misspelled word and i almost clicked to figure out what i did wrong
  7. I will be relieved if he can return this season at all. Basically how I've felt since last night, outside of a short burst of optimism when Len reported the sprained ankle.

  9. i was always a big fan of this
  10. you basically have it. nothing serious as a result of the pitch, but he missed some time and is gonna have to make up the missed ABs.
  11. rizzo should throw it into the walk-up mix
  12. That's odd; at this point, the desire to shower with him should be strongest. I meant the emaciated one

  14. we need a little BIIM up in here i like it
  15. dude is going to have 200 RBI isn't he
  16. the part about this that feels weird is that i'm not really worried about how the severity of this injury impacts the ultimate fate of this team (though we'd miss having that type of lefty bat a bit). I'm just worried about not getting to watch schwarber and having to wonder if it'd be more awesome with him.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet] hahahahahhaa whichever one of you this is (imb?)
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] this is an actual thing that people think
  19. i thought people were but in a tongue in cheek manner...i figured it was like a meme/running joke. maybe i misread the way it was said. Yes, that was the joke, it's fairly dickish to divorce somebody currently fighting cancer, he's a big dumb hick who played for the cardinals let's just assume the worst and say he left her because of the cancer. right, i guess i just meant i thought it was a little weird that we were still running with it at that level when he signed here.
  20. i heard harold reynolds basically did blame him for moving guys around all the time or something like that
  21. I doubt this is an actual thing the Cubs are going to operate on. Even in the cold, I still have more confidence in Soler at the plate than Baez.
  22. not like that I'm guessing what he listed is winnings on a $2 bet. Nobody lists it like that though. Yeah that's what the ratio looked like.
  23. Apparently there was a fire at Comiskey last night and they suspect arson.
