  1. i'm (temporarily) done with this healthy crap the second i land in vegas and i am going straight for in n out.
  2. what kinds of things do you like to eat when you aren't concerned with health/cheat meal or what have you? i just want to see where we are here. Steak, all and any unhealthy brunch food (biscuits/gravy, fried chicken/biscuits), unhealthy carb loaded foods (pasta, pizza), cheese loaded Mexican food, but I generally try to eat healthy most of the time (lots of fish, lean meats) you started with steak and i was like "ehhhh that's pretty damn tame" but then i saw the rest of the list and i'm ok with you now.
  3. [tweet] [/tweet] wtf is going on [tweet] [/tweet]
  4. i do agree that that wrigley monstrosity looks awful. not sure anyone disagrees.
  5. high protein, high fat, low carb? low fat, high carb? low fat low carb?
  6. what kinds of things do you like to eat when you aren't concerned with health/cheat meal or what have you? i just want to see where we are here.
  7. nah pizza hut is vile. and i'm generally on team "you can't screw up pizza"
  8. Are you actually disgusted by this food or do you just reject it because it's "unhealthy?" The latter, I completely understand...the former, I don't. I get eating healthy and I do it mostly, but I've always refused to believe that people actually have a preference for eating healthy crap.
  9. Despite the White Sox apparently leaking out that he's ill, Morosi says no [tweet] [/tweet]
  10. I was talking about the pizza dogs but i'd probably try that spaghetti pizza too.
  11. That looks horsefeathering delicious. Also I'm not a fat guy.
  12. after how annoyed we all were by the sox fans and others mentioning the sox in the same breath as the cubs early this season, isn't the best schadenfreude ever seeing them start out blisteringly hot for a solid month and then collapsing to the point that they're selling off sale?
  13. Davies is right handed and doesn't have reverse splits, so Baez is super nothing.
  14. i don't think anybody has said anyone is crazy for not being huge on spaghetti. and it's definitely miles behind lasagna. i just think it's weird to think basic noodles are "gross."
  15. And unless you think Cooper and Sale were on a propaganda campaign back as far as Sox Fest to explain away what he knew would be an unintended forthcoming drop in K's, there's a decent likelihood that he can go back to pitching the way he used to if our people think that's better (though pitching to weak contact isn't the worst idea with our defense - as we've seen). Not that I think there's any chance in hell we'll get him. I'm just not all that scared by the change in his peripherals given what was explicitly laid out before the season by he and his pitching coach.
  16. I get what he's saying and it would be true for lots of front offices. Fortunately our front office isn't stupid enough to let a vague feeling of urgency blind them to the fact that there's an 80% chance we're not winning the world series this year.
  17. I think that's the first time in my life I've heard of somebody being grossed out by spaghetti. What the horsefeathering horsefeathers?
  18. Almost as funny was the guy who said he wouldn't want Javy or Soler in any deal. Yeah why would you want a 23 year old with gold caliber defense that is putting up a 2.5ish WAR season in a part time role with gold glove defense. For the same reasons I'm hoping we sell high on him? You can debate their futures (and there's lots of ways they can work out well) but not liking Javy or Soler is far from criminally stupid.
  19. FIP and xFIP are both up a full point over last year (and are career highs), k/9 down three (and a career low this far), his k/bb ratio is well down from the past couple years and and his contact rate is up. His ERA is down a tick, but his LOB% is up. His babip is down a fair bit, but his LD% is not. If that's not less effective, I'm not sure what is. Obviously his peripherals and FIP numbers are going to be down if he's intentionally pitching to more contact. That is a given and was the starting point for the whole conversation. His ERA (and thus ERA+) are both considerably better than last year. That's literally more effective. I have no idea if it's sustainable and something he can succeed with, but as of now he is giving up fewer runs. The LD% is the only one of those that really makes the case that this is just luck and he isn't one of those weak contact guys, but LD% is a pretty awful stat so it's not going to convince me that he can't on its own.
  20. Did you guys see that post I snuck into the fast food monstrosities thread about this pancake place in Vegas? I'm not a pancake fan at all and those look incredible.
  21. You'll find a reason to bitch about anything. Well that's an odd response and not really true. I think mainly because ALL YEAR is 31 innings. His peripherals are not good.
  22. That's crazy talk, the edge is the best part. yeah i was with him until he mentioned lasagna.
  23. According to Morosi, we're looking at him too [tweet] [/tweet] Has been pretty good offensively this year and has just graded out abysmally defensively to the point that he's been exactly replacement level.
