yeah horsefeathers the world series ring that's not really an award -
if you love schwarbs, you love schwarbs. he played for this team. he is known for hitting glorious majestic dongs like nobody else on this dongeriffic roster. no problem with him getting votes.
-
because favorite is a subjective thing and doesn't necessarily have to do with on field play. i wouldn't personally have him first, but there probably aren't 10 guys on this squad i'd put ahead of him (even though he's only played 3 games or whatever) hell, i'd understand schwarber winning that poll more than i do hendricks. so horsefeathering weird.

Week 2 Eagles (1-0) @ Bears (0-1), MNF 7:30 ESPN/780
David replied to UMFan83's topic in Other Sports
it's funny because i remember the original narrative being that he sucked in prime time and people wondering if his diabetes was affecting him at night or something. -
if kyle hendricks actually wins the cy young award, well, i'm not sure we can ever claim pixie dust on anyone else again and i'm pretty sure i'm not actually alive in the real world.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BKTBZ8zjwZb/ i know the history of these isn't great (did we wear them any other game besides bears/packers in champagne and the nye 2006-07 debacle?), but i think it looks kinda bad ass and still love this wouldn't want to go to it regularly, but i def wish they'd go back to white on white on road. don't think they've worn it since cutler's first game when urlacher got hurt. -

i can't decide if i'm glad i didn't sleep through a no hitter or not very VERY cool to see the Fred shoutout. good work, guys.
-
not the first time, won't be the last of course, if i were mcleod, i would've preferred to go to SD than minnesota if we win it this year, he's gone, i bet. if we don't, i'd lower the odds.
-
Yeah you don't want to meet us jerks. It will sour your impression of the board as a whole. Fred was one of a kind. damn you sound like a blast i've met soccer and ssr. they were righteous dudes. never fred, tho.

i've liked ross since at least the nationals game last year. just didn't want to see him come up to bat.

exactly how i feel. would hate losing to them most, but compared to having to face madbum or thor (granted they should only have to face them once), i'll take their guys.
-
i'm very boring. all five of my choices are the 5 most voted for.
-
what's also funny about that poll is that hendricks is cool and good and all but he's so objectively boring in every way (especially compared to any of his teammates) that it's hilarious for him to even get a lot of votes, let alone win in a landslide. basically what i mean is i would be less shocked if a terrible but fun player were winning...like kawasaki, if he'd been on the team more, or something. hendricks being very good but not one of our 4-5 best players plus also being boring and on the same team as a bunch of fun cool guys should be a virtually perfect recipe for very few votes.

or i could pretend i'm one of those guys who is too cool to count the wild card game as part of the playoffs (but yeah it would still be postseason, regardless)
-
i actually remember it pretty well, and I am not one to remember crap like that or dwell on it. but it was our 10th straight postseason loss and i did not loosen up until that glorious soler dong in game 2 (along with garcia pissing all over himself). http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/94951848/v521078083/cardinals-tommy-phams-first-postseason-homer/?query=pham+nlds 10th straight loss? The streak ended when the Cubs beat Pittsburgh. oh yeah. i'm still drunk from friday i guess. i guess 1-10 in their last 11 still sucked though. all i know is i was really sad after game 1.

David replied to Southpaw19's topic in Chicago Cubs Talk
ha WC was Conforto then i completely forgot about this thing and any transactions i could've made. completely shocked that i'm in last, lol. -
wong is still pond scum, let's not get crazy here jesus christ. i must be hungover or something. i was transcribing wong and pham in my head the whole time. tommy pham is cool with me. especially after actually watching that clip. wow. transposing, you horsefeathering idiot.

[tweet] [/tweet] i guess this actually belongs in a week 2 thread.

I'd like to see Floyd's actual rating, especially since they included him in the positive comment about the LBs. Also curious how they graded Hall. to my eyes, he gave up a couple of plays but he looked to be playing good coverage and just got beat.
-
Check the rotation thread. There's an article about it. the answer being he's not out of the rotation, he's pitching thursday. Lester is lining up for first playoff game start. yeah, sorry, i was posting from my phone at the time so i went with the laziest answer. also, this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BKQn24uDvT9/
