not the first time, won't be the last of course, if i were mcleod, i would've preferred to go to SD than minnesota if we win it this year, he's gone, i bet. if we don't, i'd lower the odds.

exactly how i feel. would hate losing to them most, but compared to having to face madbum or thor (granted they should only have to face them once), i'll take their guys.

what's also funny about that poll is that hendricks is cool and good and all but he's so objectively boring in every way (especially compared to any of his teammates) that it's hilarious for him to even get a lot of votes, let alone win in a landslide. basically what i mean is i would be less shocked if a terrible but fun player were winning...like kawasaki, if he'd been on the team more, or something. hendricks being very good but not one of our 4-5 best players plus also being boring and on the same team as a bunch of fun cool guys should be a virtually perfect recipe for very few votes.

The streak ended when the Cubs beat Pittsburgh. oh yeah. i'm still drunk from friday i guess. i guess 1-10 in their last 11 still sucked though. all i know is i was really sad after game 1.

I'd like to see Floyd's actual rating, especially since they included him in the positive comment about the LBs. Also curious how they graded Hall. to my eyes, he gave up a couple of plays but he looked to be playing good coverage and just got beat.

Now we just need CubbieBum and yanrslatr appearances JC and Jon, too. I remember JC actually showed up out of nowhere for Rizzo's debut. Figured if he'd show up for that, he'd have shown up sometime in the past 2 seasons.

i just realized that wednesday is a day game. i don't want to clinch at 3 pm on a wednesday when i'm at work. please lose one. I'm fine with letting the chips fall where they may but yes I'd prefer a night celebration at Wrigley. The only thing that sucks is not controlling our clinch destiny. The Cardinals head to the west coast starting thursday so all of their games are later than ours meaning if we fail to clinch in our game, we risk the Cubs officially clinching at like midnight from a Cardinals loss. That will set up the still awesome but slightly less 'celebrate after the next game' scenario. If that happens, I hope we can at least win that game this time so we don't celebrate after a loss. We'd control our clinch destiny, because we clinch if we win though... In the scenario where we take 2/3 in STL, I mean.

i'm not gonna be heartbroken if we lose a game during this series so i can potentially see them clinch on thursday night not gonna be heartbroken about making the busch locker room stink of champagne in early september, either, though, reminding all of their opponents that the home team got eliminated from the division race before september 15th.
