  1. i mean this is nothing compared to you not knowing arrieta was on the cubs until mid-late 2014
  2. i wanted a darwin barney walkoff right there so bad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aKapDiX-_0
  3. adrian beltre is just remarkable. still a 6 win player. dude came into the league when i had just finished my freshman year in high school.
  4. haha ive already got them ready Name change? Who did you used to be? I...This can't...no.
  5. Kershaw obviously is going to concern anyone. But Hill? A 36 year old who's started 24 games the past 7 seasons? Not the least bit concerned about having to face him. yes, he has started 24 games the past 7 seasons. or the past 1 or so. and he has been very very good in those starts, to the tune of over 10 K/9, 2.45 bb/9, a 2.00 ERA, 2.37 FIP, and 3.18 xFIP (mainly because he has held teams to 0.39 HR/9). in other words, your dismissive tone seems pretty damn silly. if he's healthy and available, he's not fun to face.
  6. would much rather get the nats.
  7. i don't follow they already aren't able to use him in games 1 or 2 (or really twice in the series)...how much less rest do you want him to get
  8. uhh sure if you don't care if we have good WRs or not
  9. sounded like, and to follow up on the pre-game convo, that was definitely not his typical Ms. Zobrist walk up song before his AB Must be alternating because he had the normal music for at least one of the ABs earlier. i'm pretty sure what he's playing is his wife singing benny and the jets https://www.facebook.com/juliannazobrist/videos/vb.176186862423387/1231262696915793/?type=3&theater
  10. I loved him as a kid. Was he always like this? probably but when he's calling michael jordan doing dope horsefeathers your perception is changed and again, he had round ball rock to set the table all of this is probably exactly why i was so wrong about costas for all these years
  11. That thing with his car was all the way back in 2013? Jeez.
  12. I especially enjoyed the part where they compared the statistics from last year between Lester and Chris Heston and came to the conclusion that Heston was better somehow. :-k more wins, duh
  13. http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/San_Francisco_Giants/Ticket_Zone/honestly_im_glad_Jon_Lester_said_no/ml-giants/161349.1?nav=messages this thread is, uh, interesting
  14. also i love how we horsefeathering run those plays against the baserunners trying to take their liberties on lester. we horsefeathering play chess and everyone else plays checkers.
  15. the organist always plays benny and the jets for him too
  16. And speaking of Zobrist, was he using different walk-up music all night? Benny and the Jets was playing for his last AB. I know I heard his wife's song earlier in the night yikes i didn't even see this post when i made mine and i agree that it was odd that almora didn't come into the OF in the 9th
  17. also, zobrist came out to some sort of version of benny and the jets last night in his last AB...not sure what the hell version it was and maybe it was still his wife singing in the clip
  18. I love how the Cubs only have a 2% less chance of making the LCS than the Indians, who are up 2-0 instead of 1-0 yeah that's great. makes a lot of sense tho, considering they're facing the red sox, they're the worse team pretty clearly, and we're facing the shitty giants.
  19. i will say, there were way more really old people interspersed throughout the crowd. makes sense and not a surprise, but it was almost dangerous. saw two guys who were at least 80 who were getting medical attention after they fell down the stairs and hurt themselves on the way out at the end. there was one in my row too with his daughter. he was pretty awesome tho. random meatball anecdote...on the train last night, heard a middle aged dude complaining about why they'd start a 2B in lf (granted, Zobrist had a misplay) and that soler would've been much better there. some college kid replied that they probably wanted baez's glove at 2B, and then the guy was like "but he didn't even play well there." like what the horsefeathers game were you watching?
  20. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/73955164/v1204119283/sfchc-gm-1-statcast-tracks-ross-pop-time-throws/?query=cubs that is some serious pop time
  21. I love this game on paper. I hope it plays out like it should.
  22. Beat them at their own boring ass game. Only in dong fashion instead of even year [expletive] lucky hits.
  23. FS1 is muting the crowd then. It sounds like horsefeathers on tv This comes up a lot every year in the hockey playoffs. The crowd noise you hear on TV is entirely a result of production decisions and mic placement. You can never really tell what a crowd is like watching on TV. yeah it is kind of hilarious that it was even an argument and that people don't realize it's all about the broadcast and their sound levels/mics. the crowd was nuts, particularly when there were actual things to cheer for.
