  1. Why on earth would you say that? Ditka is at least a champion coach, NFL HOFer and undeniable Chicago personality. Dempster had a pretty good career with the Cubs but it's kind of a "but why" type thing. There are plenty of other past players I'd rather see, especially for a huge game. Ditka is an ignorant piece of horsefeathers racist.
  2. it's not that weird since they almost go hand in hand to some extent
  3. you're probably right. i was just hoping that with the concert going on, there's not much for me to overhear, and then I'd just try making a bee line for my car going LALALA with my ears covered. You are going to a hip hop concert sober enough to drive home? Wtf is going on? i'm actually ubering but i didn't feel like typing that for some reason
  4. Was that the night Marshall flipped the ball in Cutler's face?
  5. If there were a Cubs/Yankees WS, I'd totally take a sign that said 2001 World Series Chokers
  6. Dempster is fine and cool and the thing I was mad at him for got us Kyle Hendricks instead of Randall Delgado, so I don't care about that anymore. His impressions are awful but that's a far cry from why Ditka is a terrible waste of human DNA.
  7. [tweet] [/tweet] Get Ditka the horsefeathers away from this team
  8. I'm going to get good and hammered, anxiety style
  9. Doesn't that make the sign funny though?
  10. as we've talked about (and made fun of me) ad nauseam for, i will be at a concert for most of tomorrow night's game. i still haven't decided if, after I watch the first couple innings at the bar, i will continue to follow the game on my phone at the concert or try to avoid finding anything out and watching on DVR when I get home. It's got to be damn near impossible to avoid hearing an update at a big concert in Chicago with today's technology. you're probably right. i was just hoping that with the concert going on, there's not much for me to overhear, and then I'd just try making a bee line for my car going LALALA with my ears covered.

  13. The understanding of how the playoffs work is keeping me in check...somewhat. Obviously I want them to win really bad and I don't want to listen to stupid Cardinal or Sox fans if we don't. FWIW, I don't mean my expectations, but the general public's. Mine going into the playoffs are always more or less the same, even though obviously, having witnessed such an awesome regular season, you don't want it tainted by a crappy playoff run.
  14. yeah i don't think the expecations last year vs this year are even remotely comparable. i don't think it matters much, either, but yeah.
  15. i was coming in here just to say might as well face it you're addicted to plugs
  16. we had a game against the pirates where we only scored one run? is that the game after which cole said we weren't the best team in baseball?
  17. Yikes, Ian Desmond 5-0 Jays in the 3rd
  18. Heard some mention on the radio about who the umpire is going to be tomorrow night and Lester not faring well with him, but I'm not sure if I misheard or not.
  19. You wouldn't be surprised if a starting pitcher started three games in six days? Math really is hard. Started yesterday (day 1), maybe start Saturday on 2 days rest (days 2-4), then start on regular rest in game 5 (days 5-9). Then Cueto starts games 1, 3, and 4?
  20. What are you referring to when you say you don't understand? If it's the moneyline format, that is not exclusive to baseball. That then If it's a + number, then it's how much you win if you bet $100. If it's a - number, then it's how much you have to bet to win $100. So a $100 bet at +150 wins you $150. A $120 bet wins you $100 at -120. It's a straight bet on whether the team wins or loses. No spread involved.
  21. I never did understand baseball betting lines What are you referring to when you say you don't understand? If it's the moneyline format, that is not exclusive to baseball.
