  1. also, zobrist came out to some sort of version of benny and the jets last night in his last AB...not sure what the hell version it was and maybe it was still his wife singing in the clip
  2. I love how the Cubs only have a 2% less chance of making the LCS than the Indians, who are up 2-0 instead of 1-0 yeah that's great. makes a lot of sense tho, considering they're facing the red sox, they're the worse team pretty clearly, and we're facing the shitty giants.
  3. i will say, there were way more really old people interspersed throughout the crowd. makes sense and not a surprise, but it was almost dangerous. saw two guys who were at least 80 who were getting medical attention after they fell down the stairs and hurt themselves on the way out at the end. there was one in my row too with his daughter. he was pretty awesome tho. random meatball anecdote...on the train last night, heard a middle aged dude complaining about why they'd start a 2B in lf (granted, Zobrist had a misplay) and that soler would've been much better there. some college kid replied that they probably wanted baez's glove at 2B, and then the guy was like "but he didn't even play well there." like what the horsefeathers game were you watching?
  4. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/73955164/v1204119283/sfchc-gm-1-statcast-tracks-ross-pop-time-throws/?query=cubs that is some serious pop time
  5. I love this game on paper. I hope it plays out like it should.
  6. Beat them at their own boring ass game. Only in dong fashion instead of even year [expletive] lucky hits.
  7. FS1 is muting the crowd then. It sounds like horsefeathers on tv This comes up a lot every year in the hockey playoffs. The crowd noise you hear on TV is entirely a result of production decisions and mic placement. You can never really tell what a crowd is like watching on TV. yeah it is kind of hilarious that it was even an argument and that people don't realize it's all about the broadcast and their sound levels/mics. the crowd was nuts, particularly when there were actual things to cheer for.
  8. i cannot stand how coomer says balls are CRUNCHED wtf at first i thought he was just misspeaking but he says it all the horsefeathering time /rant
  9. http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-mlb-predictions/ per 538, Cubs up to 81% to make NLCS, 49% to make WS, and 31% to win WS
  10. i just watched some of the post game...arod knows way more about the cubs than i would've ever anticipated
  11. got me a new phone background (replacing the javy HR from mother's day) if anyone wants a huge version http://www.trbimg.com/img-57f86c1e/turbine/ct-cubs-giants-nlds-game-1-photos-043/3600/3600x2024
  12. Of course these two garbage players nobody has ever heard of have made those plays
  13. I'm at the game. The crowd is great. Best I've seen all year easily
  14. I think it's entirely possible that Fox forgot to bring microphones, which might explain part of it Yeah the crowd is insanely amped
  15. corey seager is a stud
  16. [tweet] [/tweet] i liked last year's much better, where it looked like 40 thousand little W flags after the game
  17. there are guys in that lineup who wouldn't make our bench. that's not hyperbole.
  18. a little surprised they went with that alignment but not disappointed with it
  19. Ditka is an ignorant piece of horsefeathers racist. I mean, sure. I'd prefer, I don't know, Scottie Pippen or something. But it's not random that he's there. Dempster's inclusion is pretty random. Dempster is a former Cub who had a long (and very nice) career here and he's still involved with the organization. He's goofy but there's nothing strange about his involvement.
