  1. There's a decent amount of lameness to intentionally missing games to protect the lead, while Murphy missed his due to injury. But meh.
  2. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-cubs-theo-epstein-met-20161003-story.html Another long form piece on Theo
  3. kanye concerts happen every few years. there will be many playoff games. especially silly division series ones. made these plans and bought the tickets months ago and i'm not gonna bail on a group of 7 other people like some kind of weirdo because i have to watch a baseball game. Are you still on the side of the quitters? So turns out Kim got robbed at gunpoint in Paris
  4. This is the best I have... [tweet] [/tweet]
  5. haha wow. he already had a secret show that had to be canceled in NY a few weeks ago (but that was because the crowds were too insane) a good percentage of those people are mets fans i'm sure, so horsefeathers em!
  6. lol why even take the bait
  7. god i love how good and aware rizzo is on those
  8. anyone want to update me on any potential AL wild card craziness?
  9. in what alternate universe of delusion do you have to exist to actually believe brian hoyer is a better player than jay cutler
  10. anyone know who is pitching in the simulated game? how does that even work? jake i'm guessing?
  11. to be clear, even though i was rooting for the additional one game playoff, seeing the cardinals eliminated today would be fun too
  12. so much for that ERA under 2. the dream is over.
  13. oh my god if he ruins his era by walking in runs
  14. i mean, it's the first inning and two runs, so this feels a tad bit premature. that said, the dodgers are facing a lefty so
  15. this is a lot like the gambler's fallacy thing. a hot craps table isn't a thing, no matter what gamblers will try to tell you. a roulette table isn't any more likely to go either red or black just because there's a streak of 8 reds in a row. yes, there are human beings involved so the analogy isn't perfect, and stuff like confidence and good feelings probably have some minor level of impact, but for the most part it's just a confluence of factors that really don't mean anything in any predictive way. the fact is the mets are a pretty mediocre team and their staff is being held together by bubble gum and toothpicks. if you can face them while only facing thor once, that's not a draw i'm unhappy with, as far as playoff opponents go.
  16. no horsefeathers. and there's no telling when either is going to happen and a week or two or three of one doesn't mean more is more likely (or less likely) to come.
  17. ugh that was stupid and lame... on a 3-0 pitch too
  18. wasn't expecting to feel like a dummy for starting greg olsen and not zach miller today
  19. [tweet] [/tweet] the cardinals being lame ass creep bill lumbergh is so fitting
  20. something about jordan howard reminds me of anthony thomas giant kinda slow lumbering dude
