  2. mias tisg can relax now
  3. I don't think it is that weird. Passing game coordinator is one of those title inflation things, given to guys you want to squeeze in while showing a promotion. This dude is a lonnggg standing WR coach, starting in 2003 with the Cardinals and spending 4-6 years at multiple spots with a one year stint at Carolina mixed in during John Fox's final year there. I think it's kind of interesting they have 50-somethings at HC and DC, and a 30-something at OC. They were obviously looking young at QB coach to go along with that OC, but this WR coach is another 50-something assistant to help with the kid, along with a fairly experienced OL coach. There were questions about whether Eberflus would bring in a former HC to his staff, but it looks like they are running out of space to fit one, depending on what happens at DLine, and I guess special teams. wonder if we'll see marinelli for d-line
  4. kinda weird to see the passing game coordinator not be the qb coach, but who even knows what the title really means. it feels like a more recent trend in the league.
  5. in 4 of his HC years at SF, he went to the NFC Championship 3 times and the SB 1. I think blowing off the Vikings hiring Harbaugh is a mistake. I dont think he alone will turn the Vikings into a juggernaut, but his hiring will likely be a good thing rather than bad for the Vikings. On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point He also lost 4 games at Michigan at least like 5-6 times, with players he got to handpick himself on the recruiting trail. His offenses were also all in the 20s in the NFL (and typically around 60s in NCAA). to be fair, in 2012 their offense was 5th in DVOA and in 2013 it was 8th. but that was with roman, the guy who helped unlock lamar jackson.

I dont think he alone will turn the Vikings into a juggernaut, but his hiring will likely be a good thing rather than bad for the Vikings. On the flip side, Eberflus is a total unknown at this point dan quinn lost a superbowl too he had greg roman and vic fangio (probably will have fangio again) in SF until this year, his tenure at michigan was nothing to write home about. he wears out his welcome everywhere he goes. he wants more control than he deserves and an enormous contract to go with it that would almost ensure that he sticks around too long if things go sour. coaches who want to be the defacto GM usually do not work well, with few exceptions. he's done little to deserve this stature. is he a solid HC? yeah, probably. he's also a huge weirdo and i'm not losing any sleep over the vikings possibly tying themselves to his nonsense for 10 years. yes, i only quoted this so it wouldn't get lost at the bottom of the page. also - mind you - i would've been fine with hiring him and i do like that he tends to go with the numbers in terms of 4th downs. i would've talked myself into the right GM pairing being able to rein him in a little bit.
  7. harbaugh is not worth all this wtf lol he's fine. in 4 of his HC years at SF, he went to the NFC Championship 3 times and the SB 1. I think blowing off the Vikings hiring Harbaugh is a mistake. 8. harbaugh is not worth all this wtf lol he's fine.
  9. don't forget nocode
  10. can't really blame him for taking the bills job (this is 35 minutes before rapoport lol)
  11. I know this is obviously cherry-picking his great moments, but I don't know how anyone can watch this video and still say that Fields is a failed QB who can't be salvaged at this point. To be fair it's largely rival fans looking at his numbers, but the number of people who treat Fields a bust is ridiculous. rival fans who don't look at advanced metrics, at least (or who think QBR is advanced metrics) man, there are throws/plays in that video that I'm not sure i've ever seen a bears qb capable of. cutler had the big arm but it always felt like what impressed had more to do with velocity (plus a lot of the back shoulder stuff) than fitting throws into windows and ball placement. maybe i'm overlooking him a bit, but no other bears qb i've seen even comes close, otherwise.
  12. Go get Janocko
  13. for those who only come here for their bears content (so, basically minnesota lol), here's something to hold you over until camp (since it's blocked - it's Fields full season highlight reel)
  14. Still on pace for 53 wins w/all the injuries. I'll take all the wins we can bank while Caruso and Ball are out. :beg:
  15. Yea but Darnold.
  16. it's been the one guy he's really been pushing :dontknow:
  17. (score another one for DBB)
  18. Whenever I see a statement like this, I hear George Costanza. "Me? Oh yeah, I'm a big analytics guy! LOVE those A-NA-LYTICS!" oh, we're analyzing, baby!
  19. they were definitely more willing to speak somewhat specifically on their radio appearances today
