I'm not sure going after RFA's being your go-to plan for the offensive line is in fact "on the bright side". Poles is good, right? why dont I feel like he's been good to date? I'm willing to wait and be proven wrong, but actively choosing to waste another year of Justin's rookie contract AND creating this situation for him to try to develop in is such bad process that I think there's more than a non-zero chance that Poles is very bad at this. Hopefully Fields is good enough to make it academic (basically what I was hoping would happen with the last regime).
damn it took you this long? i think he grew up a huge bears fan too. i saw some story where it was the 2006 season that inspired him to take up football.
A lot of rankings already have Brennan Davis and Cristian Hernandez in there. Triantos, PCA and Alcantara have also appeared on a list or two. Figure in guys like Caissie and Preciado I'm not really sure where the argument is. yeah, i think law even said something to the effect of them having 5-6 guys who could not only break in but be more towards the middle of the midseason list than at the back end.
What is being said here about the likelihood of moving up the rankings quickly and multiple guys jumping into the top 100 is nothing that hasn't been said by pretty much every prospect guy who has written about them this offseason. Take it up with them. It's more of a quirk of all of the subjectivity involved and how different outlets/observers value proximity/upside/floor/whatever else.
I mean if the answer to some of those is yes, which is very much a non zero thing, you don't have to squint too hard to see a surprise high 80s or so winner, which could win this division. Also, the Reds.
I don't blame you for feeling this way but there's a lot of interesting storylines to this season despite a likelihood of being a little worse than mediocre. 1. Is Suzuki actually a superstar? 2. Brennen Davis call up watch. 3. Is 2021 Schwindel a thing? What if he is? 4. To a lesser extent, same thing but Wisdom. 5. How good is Nick Madrigal? If he can sustain last year he's a valuable piece. 6. Killian call up watch. 7. Not about the big league squad but I'm really excited to see how all these prospects on the precipice of top 100 status do. 8. Nelson Velazquez watch. Maybe a thing? 9. Stroman doing his thing. I'm as disgusted as anybody with this payroll BS and the fact that they passed on a really good player at one of the biggest positions of need in the lineup, but there is a lot I'm looking forward to seeing this year.
aka the Manny Machado contract. Which worked out great is that supposed to be sarcasm? it has worked out pretty damn well unfortunately, lots of other horsefeathers hasn't for the padres
Remember that's Rizzo and his agent's perception of lowball. It's possible the Cubs ended up offering a fair(ish) deal compared to what he thought he was worth. Rizzo being unvaxxed might end up costing him too if New York decides to pass since he can't play at home and in Toronto. No way they're going to waste money on half a season of him. Of course it is and of course he wasn't low balled Rizzo is a major douche bro and I don't want him back
