  1. Instead they're gonna give him his own version of the Manning-cast with Michael Kay. I can't imagine how anybody thought this would be a good idea. He's literally the opposite of Manning in terms of likeability and being interesting on TV. I thought the Manning-cast was a stroke of genius by ESPN but now it just looks like they stumbled onto it by complete accident. I don't know how anyone could think that would be a good idea.
  2. I don't think this is much of a report, but it's going around (and of course all anyone is taking away from it is the "buzz about retaining/promoting" narrative that already has been speculated about for weeks, if not months). Buckle up.
  3. Probably a completely worthless thing to post, but for whatever it’s worth, my friend lives in Lake Forest and claims to have seen Pace today and said he was visibly angry. I'll take it! It's the equivalent of seeing Theo at Starbucks or whatever. I hope.
  4. Who is the Dan they are referring to and what did he report about Nagy/Pace? oh they're talking about dan wiederer and how he's kind of a dbag. He's saying Jeff (from DBB) was telling him that was happening before it had been reported by legit media. I think at this point it's clear, with social media and everything being so prevalent, that sometimes the randos on the internet do have legit info. And bloggers even moreso.
  5. Dannehy writes for the DaBearsBlog with that guy Jeff who has gotten things right before. Hopefull,y he's right. The reasoning is obvious and sound, but as always, Bears.
  6. yeah and giannis seemed pretty pleased when they picked him up, so i wondered that too.
  7. yeah, not gonna lie, i'm not informed enough to understand how some of these companies you always hear operate at a loss can just continue to soldier on. others that come to mind are like the rideshare apps, sirius, xm, siriusxm
  8. I'm late to this but I kinda can't believe that Sharma is pairing up with Greenberg. Everything I've read from Greenberg has been smarmy and superficial, basically the opposite of Sharma's work. The Athletic will almost certainly fail, but definitely worth it to try on the off chance they stumble into something, since writing jobs that pay the rent aren't a growth market. Sharma will be no less employable after the Athletic than he was at BP. I was recently thinking about how I, too, thought this was going to be a huge failure.
  9. i was just saying to a friend that i'd like to maybe see what he's got and then was bummed to see he was on the bucks already
  10. i had seen some talk of them targeting this mini break as a chance to get him some extra time and then coming back after that, but i've also heard he wasn't close, so who the hell knows. Yeah I don't think its a horrible thing to give him a few more days. The new protocols can have him back fairly quickly I believe. Next 3 games are Wizards, Mavs and Pistons. Not that those are guaranteed wins, but he can come back before the Brooklyn/GS games I'd be cool like that yeah it's obv better to have this happen now than when he is fully healthy and game ready, but to be clear i meant this mini break in the schedule. i had seen some talk of him maybe being ready by monday (2 days ago) and it was like "well if he takes monday's game off then he can rest another 4-5 days and make sure he's good." it was either on twitter or realgm. couldn't tell you for sure.
  11. Was he even close to returning from his injury? i had seen some talk of them targeting this mini break as a chance to get him some extra time and then coming back after that, but i've also heard he wasn't close, so who the hell knows.
  12. if it somehow doesn't require draft capital of significance, go get him. i guess i shouldn't be surprised that payton's contract status isn't clearly publicly known given that we have no idea what nagy and pace may or may not have gotten (i.e. the talk of the secret extensions)
  13. On pace for 59 wins but the schedule is about to toughen up a bit soon.
  14. i'm just saying this is a situation wherein i feel comfortable docking the OC a decent chunk for credit on the offensive success. you couldn't draw up what he has much better short of replacing brady with one of the (few) younger guys who is as good or better. it is an extreme case. it's not a situation i look at and think of the OC/play-caller as one of the first 2-3 guys who deserves credit for the success. granted, it's all dumb luck in the end anyway. i'm not crazy about any of the candidates.
  15. i'm assuming this is in response to me. it's one thing to have success with or without great players. it's another for your entire resume to be based on an offense that is bruce arians's baby with tom brady quarterbacking (and, yes, an embarrassment of riches at WR). no idea what the hype is about or what makes people think he's interesting as a candidate other than arians talking him up. it doesn't necessarily have to be the case, but we already saw how much that means with reid/nagy (when reid took the blame for all the bad playcalling and gave him the credit for the good and said nagy was the most HC ready coach he's ever worked with blah blah blah). Difference between Leftwich and Nagy is that Leftwich legitimately runs the offense. Arians is old and just a figurehead at this point. He's repeatedly stated that Leftwich runs offensive meetings, with or without him present. Plus, Leftwich has played QB at the NFL level and was well known as a leader even from back in his days in college when he played thru an ankle injury and his OL literally picked him up and carried him down the field everytime they moved the chains. I'm not completely sold on Leftwich (or any other coach TBH) but it has nothing to do with Nagy, Brady, Arians or anything else. He's definitely in my top 5. the only comparison to nagy was in the praise coming from an established offensive minded and highly regarded head coach. i really don't believe that arians is as hands off as is being said here. and if anything, nagy (from what we were told and from what we could see from afar) was doing more with less as alex smith and their offense took a huge jump that year. and nobody had anything bad (especially not reid) to say about nagy as a leader prior to this season. if anything, it was seen as his one trait to hang his hat on even if he did suck at calling/running/designing offense (again, before this year). my "criticism" (it's not really that) is based entirely on the fact that i have no idea what his qualifications are - and having played does little to nothing for me. plenty of guys who played at the NFL level suck ass as coaches and plenty of guys who didn't are great. just about anybody who is a cromulent nfl coordinator should be able to coach that offense to success. maybe he'd be good, maybe he'd be bad - i'm just not sure what there really is to be excited about.

  17. yeah, i don't know. not really sure what the hype is about when tom brady and bruce arians (not to mention chris godwin, mike evans, antonio brown, etc.) are around. He also got Winston over 5000 yards with 33 touchdowns to 30 picks so basically he just threw a lot. winston has had better years than that.

  19. Aren’t Ball and Zo the same person? Did you mean Caruso? yeah i'm guessing he meant caruso and ball
  20. what an insanely awesome game this has been we are good.
  21. not sure how anyone can look at his numbers and be shocked he isn't getting consideration Because it’s not always about “numbers” when discussing talent level. i'm not arguing that (even though i wouldn't even say he's an all star on merit, even though he has been a very nice addition and fit on this roster). is this your first time following an all star selection process? (let alone NBA all star). how often do guys who don't put up stats get in (unless they're big name old guys getting in on their past, which also happens)? i just don't see how it's remotely hard to believe that he's not getting hype.
  22. on pace for 55. not bad. prettay prettay prettay good.
