  1. There's also probably a sort of decent chance that in terms of overall WAR we just won the trade today, right? let's say eloy (i love eloy i'm not rooting for this) ends up jorge soler and cease ends up like, i dunno, corey black. not all that implausible. then lol yes.
  2. phillies with the bases loaded and nobody out down 2-1 to the brewers
  3. well hit ball by heyward off a lhp for that out
  4. might just be me but willson seems to be noticeably framing his ass off today
  5. so the phillies get 2 on with 1 out and line into a double play, then travis shaw hits a dong the next inning horsefeathers the horsefeathering brewers
  6. Ha, no wonder I couldn't see that tweet when BN RTd it
  7. Just 62-15-1 to equal last year's record HEY RIDE!! What was our record after the Bryant walkoff vs Colorado in 2015, out of curiosity?
  8. how many of you guys remember when the cubs accidentally posted a profile for don baylor before he was officially hired (and i think this happened not that long after the Bears' gaffe with mcginnis)?
  9. Super weird I don't remember the details of a trade from nine years ago. This trade was a board highlight. A poster said that he called the Tribune Company switchboard and the secretary said a trade was imminent. We all laughed and the poster relied not to poke fun because he had cancer. Everyone was still reeling in shock when the trade got announced. No word if the original poster was the purple Fanta shirt guy. btw i thought the story was that sweet swingin' billy called to tell hendry to make a trade, and hendry's secretary "took the message" for him.

  11. Rip sweet swingin billy
  12. hey guys, fun fact, the cubs once traded mark derosa for chris archer that's nuts did you guys know that?
  13. it's funny I feel the same way considering we gave up what ended up being a future perennial mvp candidate for harden I honestly had to look up the trade to know who you were taking about seriously? how the horsefeathers?

  15. If any team could make it work, it'd probably be Oakland with their penchant for guys who don't necessarily have super high ceilings, although I agree it would probably require either Almora or Happ. i'd be willing to give up almora + whatever hipster prospects he wants out of our minors, but that's about it. maybe montgomery but i tend to be in the school of liking montgomery as a starter and having questions about gray's health that you mentioned. so, in other words, if it were me, we're probably not getting sonny gray. but it's beane so who knows.
  16. no, thanks
  17. can't see what package we could put together at this point without dealing an MLBer but billy beane has done some weird horsefeathers so who knows
  18. the "let's pump the brakes on bryant being mvp guy" ahhh what you did there, i see it
  19. that's the kris bryant isn't who i'd want up with the game on the line guy iirc
  20. Bumgarner's is really good ($12M in each of next 2 seasons), but, yes. Without looking it up I'm guessing Rizzo's is the biggest steal among such contracts in baseball. You guys ever hear of Chris Sale?
  21. Lots and lots of wrong things here. Did you do that on purpose? I guess he did do it on purpose.
