  1. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/01/matt-nagy-difference-in-mitchell-trubisky-was-work/
  2. only the rams right now have a better point differential than the bears...obviously that's mostly today, but just imagine if god mode rodgers hadn't come into play week 1
  3. super duper elite
  4. I like an unexpectedly good bears team more than an underachieving but better Cubs team
  5. Not a memorable game, but this reminds me of the first half against San Francisco in 06.
  6. and easily despite looking back like half the time he was running
  7. jesus christ this cardinals defense lol
  8. coomer is and was the worst no matter how bad zaidman is, i at least know what is going on because he doesn't call the plays like the listener can see them I know he's a terrible announcer but I love Coomer. He's grown on me just like Santo. Him & Pat together are fun to listen to. And now I wait for the ridicule. i don't particularly like coomer as a color guy, but i'm specifically referring to his play by play that would've been awful descriptively even for a televised broadcast
  9. How hard is it to get a backup radio announcer who knows how to properly align the pitch of his/her voice to the importance of the play they are calling? It's been a problem for like the last 4 guys they've had. The worst was still Sirott though. His tone and intensity would change several times during the same call coomer is and was the worst no matter how bad zaidman is, i at least know what is going on because he doesn't call the plays like the listener can see them
  10. zaidman with a really bizarre call to start off with on that bunt (before he reached safely he was yelling like he had just hit it onto waveland)
  11. pat just referred to KB's dong as "elongated"
  12. #1 defense in the league per DVOA after 3 weeks https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamdef 10th in the league overall (27th in offense, 9th in st) https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff the nice thing is it's reasonable enough to hope/expect that the offense can be a decent amount better than that (because, well, that's really bad and they have a lot of talent and should hopefully progress as trubisky picks up the offense more) while the defense is probably in the territory (not necessarily #1) it should be.
  13. exactly what you expect any pending FA to say about their current team as time is winding down it's not like they're getting a discount
  14. he defended the white house publicly sort of...but that was another instance of sort of refusing to take a stance on anything. he just hid behind something like "i may not agree with everything going on there but i believe you still have to respect the office" or some crap like that.
  15. i think joe is just terrified of taking a position on anything publicly doesn't excuse anything. i don't like what he said the other day or him basically doubling down on it today. i just think he's an old dumbass when it comes to these matters, no matter how progressive his baseball ideas or his goofy shticks and wacky hair might make him seem.
  16. I never really saw Russell as a big part of the offense. Just a league average bat with elite defense is what I had expected out of him (who could potentially become a better hitter at some point given his age, but yeah). But yeah, given what happened with Darvish, the bullpen injuries, the fact that Rizzo was ass for 1.5 months or so, Bryant not having contributed much, and the starting pitchers all pretty much underperforming expectations, it's pretty remarkable that we're probably winning 95 games.
  17. Hes regressed I think. He had his moments last year with poor footwork or whatever, but seemed to generally be hitting his targets with more consistency. Hoping it's just a product of being a little overwhelmed early on in a whole new offense and that those things clear up as he gains more confidence with the plays and has to think less.
  18. Counterpoint: with both Mn and GB losing handily, the Bears could find themselves on-top if the NFC no matter the horsefeathering spread ETA: NFC Central NFC North, but it's only been like 17 years
  19. as much as i would like to think otherwise, i kinda think it's more like rizzo thinks his teammate is being railroaded/screwed somehow
