This team is so confusing. I really really like some parts of the roster.. and I *really* dislike other parts. Time to start the 2006 championship season...

I'm gonna try and stay optimistic about Jones.. Maybe they'll give him enough days off against lefties that his numbers will be solid. Hey, Jones has a 1.250 OPS against Harang (in 4 AB's) So what's his story again? 2 years ago, he was hitting great. That's not all that long ago. Injuries? He claims that as they lost some of their better hitters, he felt more pressure to drive in a lot of runs and hit for power, and started to try to pull the ball too much.

That September was so awesome.. I went to 3 of the 5 games against the Cards at Wrigley (including the one that was robbed when Alou's double down the line was ruled foul)..

Eek.. I sure hope they're not talking 5 years...

The papers are reporting this morning that they're very close to an agreement and one should be reached in the next few days. Am I missing some new piece of information?

I wouldnt' mind if they made all the exterior walls brick...Not sure they'd ever do a project like that that was purely cosmetic though. Not a big fan of Wrigley's present exterior appearance.

The Sosa situation was last year... The offseason following 2004 and leading into 2005.

Kerry Wood won't be taking a pay cut as long as; a. Some other team will be willing to pay him more guaranteed. b. (more importantly) Scott Boras is his agent. Scott Boras is his agent? Not that I'm aware of. I thought the Hendricks brothers represented Kerry. Pat Rooney and Greg Landry are according to Cot's Baseball Contracts, FWIW. Thought something along those lines.

We might've swept that series if not for Dusty's fear of Lenny Harris.. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

Do we really want a collision at home on the last day of ST?

There's an understatement if I've ever heard one. As for wanting Lee, I would've agreed with you a year ago. His 2005 left much to be desired, though.

*sigh* I know he's progressing and all that. But its so depressing...Cant we have one healthy season out of prior and wood... Blame the idiots running our team for that one. Not that this dead horse needs to be beaten down anymore. Contention. Last year. Right.

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060331cubsbits,1,2643580.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Not sure if anyone had seen this. I had always thought that there was no way 13 days off would set him that far back. Maybe a little bit, but there was also the chance he'd come back stronger. This might sound stupid, and I'm no major league pitcher (or doctor/trainer for that matter), but when I get lazy and miss a 7-10 days of working out, most of the time I come back stronger than I was. Strength is built during recovery time, after all. I'm gonna go out on a bit of a limb and say Mark will come back in late April/early May, shortly after Wood...possibly/probably before Miller.

Not just that, but he didn't wait long to invoke his trademark phrase either. Search is disabled, too. So he must've been searching manually through all the threads for that one. LMAO

Wow...Delino was Neifi before Neifi was Neifi. Speaking of bad roster photos... http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/4459.jpg

What's so bad about that deal? It would have sounded insane to give Prior for almost anybody a year or two ago, but I'd have to seriously consider a deal for a guy like Cano at this point. At least Cano plays. You cannot be serious.
  24. David
I was worried about it anyway. Tonight really didn't make a difference.

REX!! :D You'd think the person with the DePaul pic would be happier about April 7th's singers... Meh. I go to DePaul. Their sports (or any college sports, for that matter) mean very little to me. That'll be nice for the family on opening day, though.
