  1. So, by process of elimination, Alex Brown did practice today. Nice.
  2. I would not be the least bit disappointed if it was a 6 point win. I should probably rephrase. I'd be unpleasantly surprised if it were any closer than a TD (mostly during the game). In the end, though, I'll gladly take any victory.
  3. Of all the things you list, the one that doesn't really mean anything to me is "it's still Lambeau". I don't think the Bears are any less likely to win this game because it's there. But the Pack is getting just 3.5 points, with an o/u of 35. I would be pretty shocked if the Bears won by more than TD, and I'm guessing they end up winning it on an INT return that puts them up by 4. I think the fact that the Bears haven't put together back-to-back winning seasons in years is just as irrelevant. The records of those teams have no bearing on nor are they a reflection of the present team. Just a pet peeve of mine (comes up a lot with the Cubs too). As for the game, the Bears SHOULD win pretty easily. I'd be disappointed if it were any closer than a TD. That doesn't mean it will happen, but they should be expected to win and win convincingly.
  4. I don't want him. I like what we have at WR right now with Moose, Berrian, Bradley, Davis, Gage. If they want to go after Deion Branch, that's a different story. I wanted Lelie and I think we could've had him. I want this team to go after good WRs, not other people's trash. Eh.. I'd pick up Rogers and cut Gage. Can there really be much of a drop off?
  5. ...if they want to lose money. Speaking of sports betting... Mansion.com is offering a free $1100 bet (to win $1000) on the Steelers for opening week. Basically, you deposit the money, bet it, and if you lose, they'll refund you the money w/no catch. If you win, you win. I guess it's a way for them to get people who have that much money laying around to sign up for their site. http://www.pocketfives.com/F74A2E89-5593-4AF0-8C62-E53D42FC7540.aspx The posters talking it up are pretty reputable on that forum. It does sound too good to be true, so I'm still mulling it over. Just thought I'd pass along the info if anyone wanted some free money, lol.

The only thing that worries me about Hester is his strange tendency to fall down after fair catches... WFT, mate?
  7. David

After tonight I think he's in serious danger of being cut. Remember, we'll only keep 5 WRs: Moose Berrian Bradley Davis Gage or Currie I think Gage should and will get cut...could be wrong, though.

Currie is FAST... If he can cut down the drops (and Grossman gets used to having a receiver who runs THAT fast), he is going to add the deep threat we've been looking for. Don't know if he has the hands or mindset to go over the middle, but at least we've got someone to stretch the field with now and then.
  9. Does it seem like David Wells goes to and from the same teams all the time?? I think the only team he hasn't gone back to is the White Sox...
  10. I think we should have a stickied thread of all of Dusty's hilarious quotes. Let's see... The fishing one The base cloggers The black athletes can stand the heat better...

Can we have 1995 Curtis Conway, plz?
  12. David

    And if anyone thinks that is going to happen, they are fooling themselves. A second round pick is reasonable. I'd give him a second for him. 2 firsts? Uh, no thanks. I'd quite possibly even give a 1st (not 2), considering the fact that if all goes as we hope, we'll be picking in the late 20's or early 30's in April. Plus, Angelo does his best work in the later rounds. I think what it really comes down to is that the Pats really don't want to trade him. They're just letting Branch see what the market is for him out there so that he'll ultimately sign a reasonable contract with them.
  13. I didn't even have faith in Dempster last year. Flukes happen.
  14. because I'd rather have two draft picks than a b-level prospect. Even considering the way this organization is operated? I'd think either option is just as worthless.
  15. http://i.cnn.net/si/si_online/covers/images/2004/0405_large.jpg What a long, strange trip it's been.
  16. Your post is so misguided it's not even funny. You'd probably rather have Pierre in CF and leading off than Pie (who could EASILY outperform Pierre) down in the order and a legitimate on base threat at 2B and leading off. Schmidt? A dumb idea? Not sure what to say. Counting on Prior as a 5th starter isn't crazy. Counting on Prior as a top 2 or 3? Crazy. I would rather pick up one more solid starter than depend on two of our rookie carousel from this year, but if there's nothing out there, there's nothing out there.
  17. The Cubs would be stupid to deal Izturis. I guess people love a player who makes mental mistakes every time he steps on the field. I guess that makes sense. :? That player is Cedeno btw. Yea, they'd be stupid to trade an overpaid terrible player (defensive replacement at best). The biggest difference between Cedeno and Izturis has nothing to do with what either player does on the field. It's about $4 million that could be better spent elsewhere (like on anyone that doesn't suck).
  18. I wouldn't mind making it Izturis in that deal instead of Cedeno. I doubt the Reds would be that stupid, though. How sweet would it be to get rid of two of Hendry's mistake contracts for Freel?
  19. Juan Pierre hit a home run? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
  20. Serenity now!
  21. This is where I am at. Marcus is past his prime. Unless he comes at a seriously reduced price, I would pass. He'll be 29 next season. I don't see how that is past his prime. The same way Wood and Prior are? :x
  22. If you can debunk something, can you bunk something? What about rebunk?
  23. Outside of having a high OBP, I completely disagree with everything you said. QFT Oh, and how exactly do you come up with "your lineup would be 100% better" with Kendall or Giles in the #2 spot?
