  1. Well, if you buy into the idea that Dusty abused and pretty much destroyed our pitchers in 2003 (and the way he handled Z today shows he hasn't learned a damn thing), then you could definitely make a case for Dusty.
  2. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6008120 Yea, Matt, especially with your o-line trying to block our defensive linemen one on one.
  3. Hey Banedon, got a link to the story where you got those quotes? I'd like to read the whole thing. :)
  4. I think a lot of it depends on this season. How durable he proves to be (personally, I think his injuries were a fluke; don't see how a ligament tear and a broken ankle can be linked to any common cause) will be a big factor. If he plays 15-16 games, puts up good numbers, and the Bears have success in the playoffs (hell, even if they don't), I think you have to make an effort to lock him up after this season. The beauty of it is that NFL contracts aren't guaranteed. I think the cheapest we'll get him while still having a good idea of how productive he can be with this team will be after this season.
  5. Beyond that, a Chicago Bear QB, of all positions. That said, I'm surprised Kramer never got one in 95.

  8. While I would not want Frank Robinson to have anything to do with the Cubs organization, this would not have anything to do with why.
  9. It's nice that Ryno knows and is pointing out that there's something wrong with the Cubs and how they're run. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that he has no idea what that 'something' is.
  10. We have a 13 page thread on soccer? My God.
  11. Sure, Houston Wade Miller at 100% would be better - but I'm not counting on 1999 Wood and 2003 Prior . . . I wouldn't count on fresh off Tommy John and still rehabbing Kerry Wood either.
  12. Sac bunting is like taking insurance in blackjack. It might seem like the safe move at the time it's presented to you, but in the long run it just doesn't pay.
  13. Seriously, how anyone could say the Marlins job is more attractive than any job (besides maybe Tampa Bay), no matter how much young talent they have, is beyond me. To say that it's a more attractive position than one in Chicago (particularly right now, while expectations are minimal)...I'm speechless, and I'm not just saying that.
  14. The fact that Alexander is out for weeks probably helps our standing in that regard as well (aside from just our game with them).
  15. Shaun Alexander is out for this weekend's game...broken foot, just heard on the Score. It's a shame, now people will have another excuse when the Bears beat Seattle. Plus, he hasn't been running all that great this year, anyway.
  16. right. loss of a step in speed = going from hitting .290 in the majors to not being able to hit in college with an aluminum bat. that statement makes a whole lot of sense. How many infield hits does the guy get? He loses that step and he loses a lot of hits. Seems sensible to me. QFT
  17. I have nothing to add to the discussion, but I just want to point out that this has to be one of the strangest ways I've ever seen somebody mistype the word "that."
  18. Heh...maybe if they weren't 0-3.
  19. How sweet would it be to beat the Seahawks on the national game of the week?
  20. Is that a mistype? You think the Vikings offense is going to score 24 on the Bears? Yea, it's definitely a typo. I went ahead and fixed it for him already.
  21. Honestly, Soriano, Schmidt, Jones, and another starter might just do it. Then again, if Lee and/or Ramirez aren't back...oh, for Christ's sake...
