    Theo's FA pursuits always seem to go pretty stealthily, esp as far as national media goes. Seems like after the fact we always hear (whether it's a success or not) that we were much more involved (Ohtani, Tanaka come to mind) than was being let on. I think we just wrongly kind of expected otherwise with Harper because of all the build up.

I never disappeared as you keep claiming, but what is this trouble that you talk about? I see posters claiming we're a 95 win team without making any moves. We just need Harper to put the cherry on top of the cupcake. You did disappear from the board crash until a little after the world series

    I have a hunch the overwhelming majority of Cub fans would love to trade Quintana for Jimenez & Cease. As a trade chip I'd take him back, sure. As a big league player, he is a DH or a bad corner outfielder. He's going to have to hit at a very special level to be anything worth losing sleep over, and he probably won't walk enough, so that'll be even harder.

    if you wanna do wishful thinking, just pretend that we have the budget for harper and he wants to be here, but we're trying to move other pieces so we can sign both he and machado. harper wants to be here strongly enough that he's delaying his signing and the terms of his contract until we're further along with machado. yep ill take that too

    yeah, even position player wise, both rizzo and heyward (lol) are at that stage. primes don't start at 26-27 anymore.
