  1. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] i think she may have purged the original tweets at some point but i found some sort of evidence of the tweets i was thinking of in these RTs there are also a bunch of replies to her about heyward from a week earlier but i can't find an RT of the actual tweet she made (12/1/15). [tweet] [/tweet]this is one of them
  2. Theo's FA pursuits always seem to go pretty stealthily, esp as far as national media goes. Seems like after the fact we always hear (whether it's a success or not) that we were much more involved (Ohtani, Tanaka come to mind) than was being let on. I think we just wrongly kind of expected otherwise with Harper because of all the build up.
  3. Dammit derwood yeah my bad
  4. i feel like she tweeted things like this late in the game (like right before reports started coming about our level of involvement) about tanaka and heyward, didn't she? anybody else remember?
  5. I saw it 5 minutes ago. Weird.
  6. Everyone had long sleeves except the blonde. Or the seasons off.. Manilow is back but not at Paris. He's at the Westgate.
  7. It's funny how you disappeared when the cubs were on top of the world and now you're back with a vengeance at the slightest hint of trouble. I never disappeared as you keep claiming, but what is this trouble that you talk about? I see posters claiming we're a 95 win team without making any moves. We just need Harper to put the cherry on top of the cupcake. You did disappear from the board crash until a little after the world series
  8.
  9. I have a hunch the overwhelming majority of Cub fans would love to trade Quintana for Jimenez & Cease. As a trade chip I'd take him back, sure. As a big league player, he is a DH or a bad corner outfielder. He's going to have to hit at a very special level to be anything worth losing sleep over, and he probably won't walk enough, so that'll be even harder.
  10. Eloy is not going to be anything special
  11. if you wanna do wishful thinking, just pretend that we have the budget for harper and he wants to be here, but we're trying to move other pieces so we can sign both he and machado. harper wants to be here strongly enough that he's delaying his signing and the terms of his contract until we're further along with machado. yep ill take that too
  12. wishful thinking - harper wants to come to the cubs really really badly and the cubs know it and the budget talk is a ploy to drive down his contract a bit yep i'm going with that :-"

  14. Are the other teams not aging as well. what a weird post
  15. yeah, even position player wise, both rizzo and heyward (lol) are at that stage. primes don't start at 26-27 anymore.
  16. horsefeathers. I am incredibly saddened by this. [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. i don't think it definitely confirms anything other than that is the message being sent publicly, which we pretty much already knew. that said, i do think they want to move some salary to allow for flexibility with a harper signing. whether they would ultimately do it regardless of being able to move guys, i'm not sure.
  18. I swear, Dr. Spaceman has less made up-sounding name than this imposter. i might've gone with
  19. oh damn it, i'll just share this dumb horsefeathers because we need fun nonsense to get our hopes up about [tweet] [/tweet][tweet] [/tweet]
  20. Yeah I mentioned that basically the other day. With Rosenthal’s stuff the last ~24 hours, Levine admitting on the radio today they are clueless and now Kap’s tweet. It doesn’t seem like anyone knows what the hell is going on and at the least we probably can take comfort in those “Cubs have no money” articles early on are probably baseless and them just making dumb guesses. What was Rosenthal saying again?
  21. i'm just saying they would have to outbid the field by a large margin to win out against what the field of suitors is likely to be. then, yeah, of course they could sign him. but so could any shitty organization. offering like a few million more AAV isn't gonna do it.
