    I was at that game, it was like 3 degrees out. Soldier Field was crazy that night and thought Rex was going to lead them for a decade of dominance

    lol remember how freaking excited 90% of us were when we heard rex was taking first string practice reps late in 2005? then he came out in at halftime of that cold atlanta game and immediately completed like a 20 yard pass to moose (this was after orton played one of the worst halves of football i've ever seen), and scored a touchdown off an INT + fumble if i remember correctly. i was horsefeathering amped and didn't care at all about the pick lol.

    I convinced myself at the time that Rex was going to get better. But then I always did that with Cutler too. So that's probably on me. I had a Rex Grossman jersey. Me too It's still in the back of a closet somewhere

    I really want to say I'd hit them in the pockets or whatever, but truth is, even if I say I wouldn't buy any merchandise (which I probably won't), if we sign Harper, I am probably buying all kinds of horsefeathers. No longer going to be a STH, but I probably still will attend some games next year, too. So, yeah, totally a hypocrite when it comes down to it.

    yeah, rex's thing was the good rex/bad rex thing where he had as many 100 qb rating games as peyton manning (or something like that) either at or among the league leaders...but obviously when he was bad, he was really bad...especially in the last game against green bay when afterwards he basically was like "horsefeathers it, it's new year's eve"

    Yep, incredibly talented team that suffered from a lack of offensive coaching and a QB that couldn't develop. Yea and that Indy team wasn't that great by usual SB winner standards either. if two of the four best players on that defense hadn't been hurt, i believe we win that superbowl.

You said he keeps rolling it out, which is why I was curious if he had actually done this again, or if you just didn't realize that Mal Engstrom is the same girl that Brian was referring to being friends with his cousin. What in the [expletive] world is going on in your head. What in the horsefeathers are you even talking about

You said he keeps rolling it out, which is why I was curious if he had actually done this again, or if you just didn't realize that Mal Engstrom is the same girl that Brian was referring to being friends with his cousin. He's referring to the phrasing. I get that. I didn't even like typing it, but it was a lazy direct reference to Brian's post.

    I believe that's supposed to say "network's end users" To me it reads much more like there should be a comma after networks...but reporting that wouldn't make much sense. If networks is supposed to have an apostrophe, that sentence is an even bigger disaster lol Either way, I'm leaning strongly toward that Tweet just being about the new nbc network

    not really sure on all that, but don't most teams tend to do better off byes? or is that just more cliche/conventional wisdom stuff that gets said over and over and we just accept it as truth?

    what? Packers never get beat by a better team, every loss was the result of bad officiating. gotcha

    Every game is elimination football in the playoffs though lol. yes but fewer rounds of elimination are by definition better than more of them it would make a substantial difference to our championship odds i mean i know you know this so i'm just trying to figure out what the hell you meant by that lol

Every team eventually runs out of talent when they have a few at the top sucking up the financial resources and winning enough to put them consistently out of the top 10 draft wise.     I know they will. I don't know if that's the right approach, but I expect it. Apparently if the bye is in play they could move the Bears back to coincide with the Rams game? In that case, you might get, at best case a halftime adjustment to strategy if either game is out of hand, but you obviously can't change your active roster at that point. i'd say it's def the right play. football is weird. your superbowl odds increase by skipping a round of the playoff gauntlet + a little bit of added benefit of getting to potentially play the rams at home if you run into them outweighs the risk of a serious injury to a key player (injury that he wouldn't entirely or mostly recover from in time for the divisional round) in trying to win those two games, IMO...even if it does hinge on football being weird enough for the rams to lose to an inferior opponent the next two weeks.
