  1. Unreal. Second time in 5 years while Cubs playing Cards. Terrible news.
  2. Hadn't seen that Madden 08 spot with Hester before... "But you still would never put, 'I'm gonna run the opening kick of the Super Bowl back for a touchdown.' Not in your wildest dreams." Pretty awesome.
  3. I say he does it, but then goes 3 for 18 in the first round of the playoffs and Yankee fans run him out of town ...right on to the Cubs. and then he either sucks or gets hurt.
  4. I hope I don't have to start a game thread for a while.
  5. ARod is on pace for 103 home runs.
  6. Sorry for the late reply. But on top of that in the 5th or 6th inning the play by play guy said he just can't put his finger on it but Zambrano just hasn't looked good this year. Can they BE more biased? Z hasn't gotten the results, but according to him he's lost speed on his FB and has lost movement. Give me a friggen break. Z's fastball has been a couple ticks slower this year, not that that's a bad thing. He's always at his best in the low-90's when he has the ball sinking. When he throws harder, the ball tends to rise on him and he gives up more fly balls and HRs.
  7. There was this big sporting event today, maybe you've heard of it... I'm a huge Bears fan, and honestly, I don't see what the big deal is about draft day. Who cares? It's the offseason. I'll see who they drafted online or in tomorrow's and Monday's papers.
  8. I know Z looked much better today, but what's with only 2 K's? I'm not complaining though. No walks.
  9. He had to be joking. He always had a sarcastic sense of humor. Maybe not, though. Who knows?
  10. Guzman is supposed to pitch May 1 vs Pitt. Awesome!
  11. Speaking of the rotation, forgive me if it's been discussed, but what is the deal with Guzman? Have we heard anything regarding a call up when the 5th spot in the rotation comes up? Has he been called up already? What can I say, I've been pretty caught up in the Bulls.
  12. Yea...I'm gonna have to revise my Bulls in 6 pick, for sure.
  13. Wait. I was reading this thread, and I completely thought this was sarcasm or a joke until I read the rest of your posts in this thread and started to suspect otherwise. You can't be serious, can you? Were you seriously predicting that Lee would go all year without a home run? I mean, he has a murderous dictator in his avatar, which unless sarcastic, doesn't leave me to believe reason stands in his way. Yea, I know. I'm Cuban. It bothers me...a little bit. I try to ignore it ;) .
  14. You need good hitting. I consider that the same thing as timely hitting. There could be a team full of .300 batters but if they don't get hits when it matters then they won't win games. You could have three singles in a row then three pop ups in a row, so those three hits were pretty much pointless. It's hitting when it matters that is important. The problem isn't when the hits are coming. You have no control over that. It's not about being timely. It's about having guys on base more often (which is much easier to control than when hits come) so that there are more opportunities with runners on, and more of those hits will come when there are runners on.
  15. Says the guy who takes every opportunity to he can to talk about how great Rich Hill is. actually, more people talk about how i talk about being right about rich hill than i actually talk about how i was right about rich hill. by quite a bit. plus, i don't really know what you're saying. I mean we all have a lot of hope for these guys. We all get angry when we perceive the Cubs didn't give them a fair shake. I don't think Harris or Hill got one from the Cubs. Until this year, I don't think Rich Hill did. When we have a team the loses 90 every other year, this is a problem. I believe abuck is on your side on this one.
  16. Oh, God. Are we doing this again? Already?
  17. There's definitely no reason to just cut him loose. Once again, a few people are letting emotions get in the way of logic when dealing with Prior. "I'm just tired of all the disappointments," or anything to that effect, is no justification for letting him go.
  18. Wait. I was reading this thread, and I completely thought this was sarcasm or a joke until I read the rest of your posts in this thread and started to suspect otherwise. You can't be serious, can you? Were you seriously predicting that Lee would go all year without a home run?
  19. Apples and oranges. The Bulls won 75% of their home games this season. The Cubs won 54% of their home games in 2003. Ya, I know. I was just pointing out the coincidence. At this point, I'm just hoping for a split in Miami. I have tickets to game 5, and I don't want a refund. :)
  20. Not to dampen the enthusiasm, but the Bulls have blown a 2-0 lead before in the playoffs, and the Heat were left for dead in the finals last year too. The Bulls really need to win one in Miami. This isn't over quite yet. I wouldn't say the NEED to win one in Miami, but if they do, the Heat are toast. There is no way Miami can win twice in Chicago Not to dampen the enthusiasm myself (because my pick at this point is Bulls in 5), but where have we heard that before? With the same two cities, no less.
  21. Per the update on ESPN 1000 just now, it sounded like Bruce Levine said they found "hot spots" in his shoulder that they had to clean out. No word on how long he'll be out.
  22. I called Bulls in six a week ago in the other Bulls thread. I'm not so sure of that anymore.
  23. How many times was Steve Kerr gonna try and hand the momentum to Miami? Of course Miami was going to make runs, it was a playoff game, but they never had momentum. Saying it doesn't make it true.
  24. Small sample size, anyone?
