  1. Yup. That's originally why I was looking at it, too.
  2. No chance. Font would have to play out of his mind and Braun would have to completely come back to earth. Hell, I'm not even sure he can catch up to Braun if Braun completely tanks the rest of the way.
  3. http://extrapolater.wordpress.com/2007/07/03/meet-mike-fontenot/ Here's the actual blog on Fontenot. Hope it's not a repost.
  4. http://extrapolater.wordpress.com/tag/baseball/smells-like-pujols/ He's not gonna keep it up, but right now he's actually got an 879 SLP index (Smells Like Pujols). It's a similarity score. Basically, they compare the seasons rookies are having to what is widely considered the best rookie season ever, which was Albert's. I know Font has been good, but to think he rates that highly is pretty ridiculous.
  5. BTW, with Milwaukee losing today, the Cubs technically are now in control of their own destinies, despite being a game out of first.
  6. Holy crap, optimism from goony. Honestly, I've never seen the Cubs do anything like this. I've seen the opposite a few times - starting out white hot and then blowing it. When's the last time the Cubs overcame an 8.5 game lead? This is unreal. They're charging harder than anybody. Wow.
  7. I'd really love to see that Cubs flag on top for the next home series.
  8. Fixed.
  9. No one ever really complains about Lee, do they? well no, but he did say our best player, which is Ramirez. Consult the numbers. You are wrong. Well, Rammy does have a 3 pt OPS advantage on him...for whatever it's worth (not much). Not even a pt worth debating, they're both incredibly awesome. I view Rammy as more of a threat, right now, though, because of his ability to hit for power.
  10. He probably has almost as many HR against LHP as anyone on the Cubs does period.
  11. That's some good stuff over there. Does anyone else remember that LUKE232323 being a massive Brewers troll (LOL @ Brewers trolls) on the Cubs ESPN board?
  12. 2004 was definitely more fun than 03...until that damn final 10 games....
  13. that's awesome. 2 games back from the brew crew, and 1 game back in the wildcard right? It's just so great to actually be competitive and have something to root foor. I'm watching the cubs last night dismantle a bad cardinals teams, and i watched every pitch. I love to see us on the correct end of a butt whooping in Busch. Actually 1.5 behind the Brew Crew and .5 behind SD for the Wild Card.
  14. ...the Cubs are only two games back of the Mets in the loss column for the best record in the NL. We've come pretty far.
  15. Haha, my thread won, even though it was probably like a half-second late since it was on top on the forum.
  16. ...as a righty bat off the bench. Meh. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/07/cubs-eye-wiggin.html
  17. They do have an offense, though, so they can still come back now that they got out of the inning.
  18. Hart singles home the go ahead run.. 5-4 Brewers
  19. Mench grounds out.. one away
  20. Freaking Tony Graffanino. These guys have a horseshoe up their asses.
  21. Speaking of Seinfeld, did anyone else not realize that this was Entourage's very own Ari Gold as George Costanza?
