    Unless you meant a World Series MVP, just pointing out that he couldn't win NL MVP based on any playoff performance. Voting is done before the playoffs begin.

    How do the playoff look? Will the Cubs face the winner in the west or possibly the wild card team? The Cubs could only face the wild card team if they had the best record in the league, or if they have the second best record in the league and the wild card comes from the same division as the team with the best record in the league. So, probably won't face the wild card team in round one.

    That's what I'm thinking...but if I lose a lot of money for essentially being a Cubs fan I'm going to hate them even more for all the torture It's not like it's just for being a Cubs fan. Z isn't exactly a crappy pitcher (even though he's been crappy at times), and the Cubs offense has been firing on all cylinders.

    Easy. Start Z. You can't root against him at this point in the season, and you can take comfort in that being the reason you made your decision.

    LOL... we could go just 2-5 the rest of the way, and they'd still have to play .750 ball to beat us. Gotta love small sample sizes.

    That's exactly what should happen if we get Bonds. It won't happen, but putting Bonds at 1B will be as successful as putting Frank Thomas at 1B. Umm... Double ummm

    Not really... Some people are more capable of being productive hitters than others. Those people are more capable than others at driving in runs.

    Count me as another who had no idea that Manny and Aramis are cousins, despite always seeing a lot of similarities among the two.

    He's probably proud of his Jewish ancestry/heritage and the cultural side, but could give two craps about religion. Most of my Jewish friends (note my location, LOL) are pretty much this way.

    LOL at that Brewer fan with the sign that lists the Brewers' past accomplishments and then puts "07 - NL Champs" at the end. If you're going to dream, why not dream big and have them go all the way?

    To refute this, I'm saying that a player's performance does not shift whether or not there is a base runner on or not. The fact that his numbers are different with runners on is all just a matter of coincidence. A player doesn't suddenly gain better offensive ability (or worse), based on the situation at hand, i just cannot believe that theory. Well, you're wrong. Pitchers pitch differently with RISP, and are likely to leave more balls over the plate. Therefore, there is a difference when hitting with runners on. Good hitters, like Ramirez, will make pitchers pay for challenging them. I love it when people who are wrong are so emphatic about it. 100+ years of baseball statistics say you're wrong.

    yeah prior and wood were fine in 2003 too Howry really isn't the future of the franchise though. I'll gladly burn him out if it means success now and in the playoffs.

    DLee is just so so sick. Such a relief that he's hit for a lot more power after the break. I expect to see more of the second half Lee next season.
