  1. porn? Haha.. Close.. Strip clubs.. Cigs (don't smoke, but occasionally buy for my buddy).. Once got carded for an R movie when I was like 20..
  2. Couldn't? Or wouldn't? I'll switch on my blackberry when I land in London and call up the scoreboard. If it happens, I'll probably kiss the wife and then go on a very long pub crawl. Well, I look pretty young as it is. Even at 24, I get carded for some 18 y.o. stuff. Would've been hard to get away with it prior to being legit, especially as a guy.
  3. Just because I'm the kind of jerk who can't help but to rain on a parade of optimism, there is no excuse for getting swept by the Marlins either, but they still found a way to pull it off. Oh, I have an excuse. I knew the series was bad news as soon as we lost (on some BS bloop crap, no less) the Lilly start. We had to win that one for any hope of winning the series, as there was no way we were winning both Marquis's and Trachsel's starts, and a pretty good chance we'd lose both against that offense. So, there, an excuse. Oh, and with Z, Hill, and Lilly all slated for this one, coupled with the Reds' injuries, there really is no excuse if they lose more than one game that matters.
  4. So you're gonna make it out to Cincy after all? Sweet!
  5. Yea, I'd agree with that.
  6. I don't know. I felt like he made an adjustment in his swing that led to his improvement in 2005. He was able to handle the inside stuff better. Even now, the improvement is still evident. He's a .300/.400/.500 guy now. Before he was more like a .270/.365/.500 guy (just making those numbers up, but I'm sure they're close). Maybe it's just been luck with BABIP this year, though, that have made his numbers look better than his career norms. Who knows. It just seems to me like he really made a tangible improvement in 2005, though. Because of that, I don't feel like that year was just a fluke (even though he won't approach those ridiculous numbers again). I do feel like he'd have hit 30+ last year and this year if not for the injury, though.
  7. I'm not. He said around the all star break that he felt his power was back for the second half. Not sure if he really felt something, or he was just being optimistic, but it seemed to be the case. I'm pretty sure his first half OPS was better than second half (if not right about even), but I would guess that he had less BABIP luck after the break. So, yea, I'm not too worried about DLee's power anymore.
  8. Yes, I probably will. Sweet. Should be a hell of a time.
  9. ...and the Cubs and Padres make it easy on us and we clinch tonight, who else is going out to Wrigleyville to join the party? I was only 20 in 03, so I couldn't then, but I will for damn sure enjoy this one.
  10. I too have to go all the way to Skokie (for a single ticket that I probably won't even use nonetheless). I called FedEx yesterday to try to get the signature waived, yeah...that was a waste of time. What a dumb process. You picked up a single and you're not gonna use it??
  11. If we do make it, I think even with the NL as weak as it is there's a real solid chance we get swept right out without much of a thought. All it took was a sweep by the Marlins to bring the Soul we all know back. :)
  12. The Cubs are the better team. I still maintain that the Cubs are the best NL playoff team going in. Like Andy said, though, whether that translates into anything in the playoffs remains to be seen. Maybe it has changed, but last I heard, since June the Cubs are second in MLB to the Yankees in wins. They've essentially played like an elite team since the terrible start, and that really accounts for for a good amount of time (4 months). In fact, the only time they really stumbled significantly was when they lost their best OF for 3 weeks.
  13. yeah 1-3 (single) with a run scored. And nobody ran on him. What's funny is that a .667 OPS is basically the average production Kendall, yet you're goofing on Soto for doing that today. I don't think he was goofing on Soto. He posted that before the game, I'm pretty sure. And he said he was happy that Soto was playing. I think he just meant that Soto needed to perform today so he could again force himself into the lineup the rest of the way.
  14. Just remember that there's no reason to expect the Cubs to continue to play the way they did in the previous 3 games in the next 3 games, especially considering who will be pitching for them in the next 3 days. Theres about 150 other games that tell you that they win more often than they lose, especially the last 90 or so. I can say with pretty good confidence that they won't end the season on a 6 game losing streak. I'd be extremely surprised if they did. I understand that you're lacking confidence after what happened the last 3 days, but it would be quite a feat (in a negative way), and quite lucky for the Brewers (and hell, they'd STILL need to win all 3 left to take it).
  15. Jesus I love your av... Dude, yours is better. Who is that? Check social for more pics of her and some other hot girls... But that's Lacey Chabert (from Party of Five back in the day and Mean Girls)....
  16. That Saturday game is Harrang, right? Might not be the best game to go to. I think it's going to take until the very last game to do this thing -- or we blow it. I don't know what's going to happen in Milwaukee though. But for the Cubs I have exactly ZERO confidence in them, at all. With the magic number now at 2, it'll be hard for the Brewers to stay alive till Sunday. I'll leave it at that.
  17. Jesus I love your av...
  18. Thanks to the Pads, but no way I'm changing my av. It has it's own thread, for God's sake.
  19. Ahem.
  20. Time for a remix... Same story, different day.. Magic number - 2 How sick is it that we can clinch within 24 hrs?
  21. This is hilarious.. IF this score holds, the Cubs could clinch tomorrow.
  22. This game thread is packed with awesomeness.
  23. You'll be using that hotel room to commit suicide. Don't go alone, I'm telling you. Three of us are going, so we're ok on that front. ;)
  24. Exactly. And even if they win tonight, they still have to outplay us by a game in the final 3 just to tie.
  25. Wow... OT but it looks like the Mets are about to give up first place...
