  1. Sori.. Please come through in a spot like this for once. I really don't believe in clutch, so you should be able to do this.
  2. What inning is it anyway? I always lose track when I'm listening on the radio.
  3. I envy you more than you can possibly imagine. Heh. I guess I'm just wired differently. I guess I'll just stop getting on you guys for going off. Everyone vents differently and it's a pennant race so emotions are extra high.
  4. If they lose and the Brewers win, the Cubs are one game closer to this scenario playing out. You gonna be freaking out tomorrow? Of course, the Brewers have to win first. And then they have to win tomorrow, and the Cubs would have to lose tomorrow. If this happens, yes, I'd be freaking out tomorrow. Only one of those four things is even close to happening as of yet, though. It's basically a tie if the Brewers win tonight. No way we would beat them in a one-game playoff. I think you are refusing to accept the situation. It's closer to being blown than you think. Wait, what? A tie if the Brewers win tonight?

But I've always been pretty even keeled, my man. I don't go off until the fat lady sings. Or until at least she's on the verge of warming up.

  7. Honestly, though...Has Lou given any form of reasoning (besides lining up a playoff rotation) for why he started Trachsel today? Or does nobody in the media have the balls to ask a question like, "Why are you pitching a sucky pitcher in the middle of a pennant race?"
  8. We are being spanked by a College Baseball team Then again, I wouldn't mind having Hermida, Ramirez, and Cabrera... Uggla's not terrible either. It's not their offense....it's our pathetic offense...can't hit frickin' AA pitchers. Basically. We swing at lots of balls. We suck against pitchers that don't throw lots of strikes. Wow. Ohman gets lucky.

  10. ROFLOL at Trachsel.... You blow so bad. Please get away from this team forever.
  11. With your emotions aside, you can't see that the Cubs have a much better chance to win the division right now than Milwaukee does? I'll freak out when we're on the verge of being tied and then in an elimination game. At this point, it's wasted energy. I can't put my emotions aside because we are talking about the Cubs. Not the Diamondbacks, Yankees, Braves, Rockies. The CUBS I'll admit, I have a sick ball at the pit of my stomach about this, but I try (my best) to calm myself down with reason. It's not like I'm not getting pissed off when bad stuff happens.

  13. Sorry, but it's absurd to tell fans to calm down when their team is playing like crap at the end of the race. You are way off on your claim about the fear. MIL doesn't have to win every game and the Cubs don't have to lose every game. If they lose today, and MIL wins, all they need to do is play one game worse over the weekend, and they will have to play a play-in game, which the Cubs won't have anybody good to start, and they will screw up their chances in the playoffs anyway if they give the ball to Zambrano. The only reason not to worry is if you think it's next to impossible for the Cubs to lose this game and 2 of 3 to Cincy, and for MIL to take 3 of 4 against SD at home. I didn't say they have to play out that way. I said that people are just assuming Cubs games coming up on the schedule are losses and Brewers games coming up are losses. The Brewers..who have showed a propensity to blow big games all year... They have to play their games, too. And tougher games at that. "OHHHH the sky is falling." It's not impossible for them to blow it, but it's definitely improbable and I'm not going to complain at this point about the situation the Cubs find themselves in. If they blow it, they didn't deserve it. It's that simple.
  14. You're right. But it's not that absurd, given the amount of luck involved in baseball (first game), combined with the fact that the Cubs, with their aggressive nature, just tend to struggle against bad pitchers, especially bad control pitchers, and the fact we pitched Marquis and Trachsel against a pretty good offense, and I'll just say...while it shouldn't happen, I can believe it will/did.
  15. I would obviously not be as comfortable as I am now, but I wouldn't be even close to thinking it's over or that the Cubs were gonna blow it. The Reds we're facing are without Dunn and Griffey, and Harang might even miss his start. The Brewers are facing a Padres team (admittedly also battling some injuries) fighting for their playoff lives. If the Cubs couldn't manage to, at least, win the same amount of games as Milwaukee in that scenario, they wouldn't deserve it anyway.
  16. You got me good. I expected someone to say it. :)
