  1. ROFLOL at Trachsel.... You blow so bad. Please get away from this team forever.
  2. With your emotions aside, you can't see that the Cubs have a much better chance to win the division right now than Milwaukee does? I'll freak out when we're on the verge of being tied and then in an elimination game. At this point, it's wasted energy. I can't put my emotions aside because we are talking about the Cubs. Not the Diamondbacks, Yankees, Braves, Rockies. The CUBS I'll admit, I have a sick ball at the pit of my stomach about this, but I try (my best) to calm myself down with reason. It's not like I'm not getting pissed off when bad stuff happens.

  4. Sorry, but it's absurd to tell fans to calm down when their team is playing like crap at the end of the race. You are way off on your claim about the fear. MIL doesn't have to win every game and the Cubs don't have to lose every game. If they lose today, and MIL wins, all they need to do is play one game worse over the weekend, and they will have to play a play-in game, which the Cubs won't have anybody good to start, and they will screw up their chances in the playoffs anyway if they give the ball to Zambrano. The only reason not to worry is if you think it's next to impossible for the Cubs to lose this game and 2 of 3 to Cincy, and for MIL to take 3 of 4 against SD at home. I didn't say they have to play out that way. I said that people are just assuming Cubs games coming up on the schedule are losses and Brewers games coming up are losses. The Brewers..who have showed a propensity to blow big games all year... They have to play their games, too. And tougher games at that. "OHHHH the sky is falling." It's not impossible for them to blow it, but it's definitely improbable and I'm not going to complain at this point about the situation the Cubs find themselves in. If they blow it, they didn't deserve it. It's that simple.
  5. You're right. But it's not that absurd, given the amount of luck involved in baseball (first game), combined with the fact that the Cubs, with their aggressive nature, just tend to struggle against bad pitchers, especially bad control pitchers, and the fact we pitched Marquis and Trachsel against a pretty good offense, and I'll just say...while it shouldn't happen, I can believe it will/did.
  6. I would obviously not be as comfortable as I am now, but I wouldn't be even close to thinking it's over or that the Cubs were gonna blow it. The Reds we're facing are without Dunn and Griffey, and Harang might even miss his start. The Brewers are facing a Padres team (admittedly also battling some injuries) fighting for their playoff lives. If the Cubs couldn't manage to, at least, win the same amount of games as Milwaukee in that scenario, they wouldn't deserve it anyway.
  7. You got me good. I expected someone to say it. :)
  8. You can't believe that a good offense is pasting Steve Trachsel?? Or you can't believe that Trachsel just struck out Hermida? I can't either. i can't believe the cubs are really just going to lay over and die like this it is disgusting and sad and extremely disappointing I know nobody is going to calm down, and I know it's not going to help, but I wish people would relax. The Brewers coming back to win this division at this point is pretty statistically improbable. People seem to consider it extremely realistic because in their mind they are, for whatever reason, expecting the Brewers to win every game and the Cubs to lose every game.

  10. Oh. My. God. Did Trachsel just strike out Hermida??? Cabrera will go deep.
  11. The Brewers are not winning the division. If anyone is backing in, it's the Cubs.
  12. I will once again state how much I can't stand Pat Hughes sounding excited when bad things happen for the Cubs.
  13. Unless Milwaukee blows it more. Maybe the Brewers will sign Ricky Bones to counter the Cubs stellar Trachsel decision. They should bring back Kolb and start him. Hell they could just start Turnbow.
  14. At least it looks like the hitters know to be patient against Olsen.
  15. Well, they can...but they also just got lucky against Lilly and then got to tee off on a bad pitcher and a terrible pitcher.
  16. Why did Trachsel hit and start this inning?
  17. I am so freaking tired of hearing Pat Hughes sound excited only for it to wound up being caught. I hate listening on the radio.
  18. If Soriano walks, you'd better believe it.
