  1. Good thing we started Jones against a LHP.
  2. The only time I can empathize with the chicken little stuff is when Trachsel is starting. I really, really get it.
  3. I was there for that game. It was part of the double header the Cubs had with the Marlins because of the hurricane. I had awesome seats 2 rows from the field right next to the Cubs dugout. The Cubs split the DH, but it was a great day. Nomar signed my girlfriends' hat (she's obsessed with Nomar) and Alou tossed me a ball. Kensing got rocked that day. Maybe he should worry more about pitching better and less about the fans. I'm confused. I was at the hurricane-induced Cubs-Marlins doubleheader in Miami as well -- in fact i lived about a half-hour up the Florida turnpike from Dolphin stadium in those days. That was the day where David F. Weathers beat us in the second game as a starter, and then the Cubs went on their fateful trip to NY and a date with Victor Diaz. But in the quote he refers to Wrigley. We're talking about the double header at Wrigley in 2004.

A damn shame what had to come a couple weeks later.
  5. The big difference, though, is that Jacque has proven (despite a small sample size where he's been decent this year) to be worthless against LHP throughout his career. So, why even bother? I'd put Monroe in CF and Murton in RF, just like Lou had been doing against lefties in the last few games.
  6. I'm pissed that both Monroe and Jacque Jones are on the roster. We haven't had a semicompetent CF since Kenny Lofton left. Yeah, I'm pissed at Jones and his 3 RBI last night too. I mean.. Jones has been alright for a little while now, but this is a terrible way to make an argument. Steve Trachsel could go out and throw 7 shutout innings today, I'd still be as pissed as I am that he's on the roster and that Lou went to him in a crucial game. Here's hoping he gets lucky on that one today, though.
  7. AZ Phil wasn't the same guy that reported that Prior looked to be in 2003 form when P&C's reported, was he? At first I thought I might be mistaking him for Al Yellon, but Yellon was the guy who claimed that Prior's calves looked like toothpicks.
  8. That is a terrible comparison. Terrible. Maybe not the best comparison, but there is nothing wrong with going with the better catcher if the production warrants it. Right, but Molina out produced Bennett last year, so it is a moot point. I think in his comparison/analogy, Molina is Soto and Bennett is Kendall. Soto has outproduced (in limited time) and outplayed Kendall just like Molina did.
  9. Got mine on Sunday. Did the PDF thang. helpful. Glad I could be of assistance. :)
  10. Also Monroe will be playing today over Murton (??) today. They didn't give the whole lineup, though. Per WSCR update.
  11. Soto in the lineup today!!!!!!! We can only hope this is Lou admitting his mistake quickly and not just the one start he was thinking of giving Soto in the last 5.
  12. Got mine on Sunday. Did the PDF thang.
  13. It was a clear black night
  14. Tryin to find a hotel to be there for Saturday and Sunday... If they clinch by Sat night, though, will probably just use the hotel to sleep off the partying and then drive home.
  15. Drunk as hell but no throwin up Halfway home and the pager's still blowin up We're definitely getting into Social territory right now...
  16. I wanna keep going, but don't think I can clean that part up for NSBB
  17. I would do it. But you'd rarely see any GM stick his neck out like that, especially on a big market team and with such a popular player.
  18. I'd love to see what's going on at Dodgerblues.
  19. I was about to post something pretty much exactly along these lines. TT obviously made an exaggeration. Nobody thought he meant that 100% of baserunners on first steal second on Kendall. The point was pretty obvious and sometimes hyperbole is for effect, and we all do it (or wait, I guess maybe we ALL don't, let's start another argument).
  20. Lou is worlds better than Dusty, but this is one area where they're very similar. At least I won a month of premium yesterday. I'd much rather have a Cubs win today, though. Getting a free month of premium and still getting the magic number down by one isn't half-bad, though.
  21. Freakin brothers every way like MJ
