  1. I didn't figure TBS would do different broadcasts regionally, but I guess so.
  2. How are both this and the other ALDS game on at the same time and the same network?
  3. That's such a long time. You would think if it had been so long, it just wouldn't happen ever again. I wonder if there's anything else that hasn't happened since the early 1900's that can be repeated this season... :-k Yea, that's sort of the direction I was trying to lead you to. :)
  4. I think I read, in an article that Silver linked to in his series preview article (from Washington Post, maybe?), that no team has outperformed their pythag to the extent that the D'Backs did since the early 1900's.
  5. They aren't sweeping this one. I think it goes to 5. This is the same DBacks team I couldn't wait to get away from earlier in the year. They went to Milwaukee and got destroyed, then they came to us and inexplicably played out of their minds. I hate this freaking team. Not only for their ridiculous bucking of reality, but also because they're like the Marlins: they have no fans, so they wait for someone else to provide the excitement then they beat you. They're baseball leeches. No way this series goes 5 games. It ends Saturday... MAYBE Sunday if Z can't get it done tonight.
  6. Personally, I would've gone Soriano, DeRosa, Lee, Ramirez, Floyd, Soto, Jones, Theriot But I can't complain too much. At least the right players are playing.
  7. Matt Morris? Or, better yet... Dave Littlefield?
  8. Not in the one game at the one moment in time when we needed him to be. Theriot wouldn't screw up that play. He's too scrappy. AGon was way more clutch though.
  9. He was never hitting that low...at least, not according to his splits nor as far as I remember. They had him in RF while Fontenot was getting regular time.
  10. I liked the DeRo signing from day one. Didn't agree with all the consternation in here (although I understood it) about him being signed off a career year. I felt like he was a Walkah who could field and play a bunch of positions.
  11. I'd argue that 2007 Aramis is significantly better than 2003 Aramis, both at the plate and in the field.
  12. Ah. Sad. He's normally not such a dumb guy.
  13. Which ESPN guy says that? Most of them are predicting the Cubs to win.
  14. Who? GEOVANY SOTO. OH
  15. Yea, us optimistic people are great at making predictions when things are going well.
  16. Who?
  17. I'm still trying to figure out the connection... :? Totally isn't one.... or is there? Nah, just felt like some randomness.
  18. I really miss going into the playoffs with that rotation and the confidence I had. We all know how that worked out, though. I guess I'll just have to settle for finding my comfort in the fact that the field is so weak.
  19. Is this your way of dealing with possible disappointment? Because out of all the matchups, this one doesn't scare me. If we get past Arizona and have to play Phillies...now they scare me. I think it's his way of dealing with the stupidity that is the ARod hate in NY come playoff time.
  20. I remember it was very late at night, like 11-11:30. Big fella comes in screaming about God knows what. I think maybe Halpert had stolen his car - something like that. So the big fella pulls out a sock filled with nickels. Then Schrute grabs a can of hair spray and a lighter…
  21. I'm okay with that, as long as that means that Traschel gets bumped down. There is zero chance that Trachsel is or was ever going to be on the playoff roster. I don't know why anyone was worried about this. Has this been confirmed? I haven't kept up with the playoff roster, so I'm not exactly sure who's on it, to be honest with you. Has it been confirmed by anyone saying something? I'm honestly not sure. Has it been confirmed because Trachsel is pretty much complete garbage and never once did anything remotely redeeming in his month or so here? I'd say so.
  22. I could see myself developing a much bigger man crush on DeRo in the playoffs. Also...really wish we had some Wrigley night games in this one. I'm sure we will if (when) we make the NLCS.
  23. Agreed...that sounded a lot like "We've got to talk to Jason and let him know Soto is playing..." Exactly.
  24. I'm okay with that, as long as that means that Traschel gets bumped down. There is zero chance that Trachsel is or was ever going to be on the playoff roster. I don't know why anyone was worried about this.
  25. Well, first of all, the Cardinals WON the World Series last year. They weren't that good. Postseason success does not equal being good. It means that you got into the playoffs (usually that means being good, other times it means being the best of a bad bunch), and then got hot. So the D'backs won 90 games so they are better then us and the Phillies. Correct? Nobody is saying that.
