  1. So, Castro will be in the lineup most days, right? I think getting rest for each of our starters will be important, he can hit lefties and righties, and he can play all over the field.
  2. I really need Horton and Wiggins to become the eventual anchors of this rotation. The rotation has been too thin each of the last three years.
  3. Was just coming to discuss this. Between the four acquisitions and Amaya, Assad, and Taillon, they’ll need to clear seven spots total in the coming weeks. Pressly, McGuire, Ballesteros, Brown, Holloway, Kriske, and…?
  4. I wonder what the asks for Ryan, Cabrera, and Gore were. I’m guessing the hard line was drawn at Horton and/or Shaw.
  5. Man, managing innings in this rotation is going to be a high wire act for the next two months. I can’t believe this.
  6. These feels right, but it does seem a little light on speed on the basepaths. Does Berti survive the deadline with Mo going to Iowa to make room for Castro? And then McGuire goes for Amaya when he’s ready?
  7. It’s hard to see where innings are going to come from if they don’t land a starter. Rea has been pretty bad since May 1, Horton and Boyd could be hitting walls soon. The fifth spot in the rotation is an adventure. I know Assad/Taillon are coming back, but there’s no way Jed doesn’t pull something off in the next 45 minutes. It’s too glaring a need.
  8. lol oh god. please don’t let this deadline hinge on our unwillingness to move a bad-bodied positionless doubles hitter.
  9. Yes, as has always been the case, you may hear things break for the next 30-60 minutes after that, though.
  10. What’s the appeal (genuinely asking)? Skimming Fangraphs/Baseball Savant for all of 90 seconds and he seems…fine?
  11. Getting work in? Hasn’t pitched much lately and there’s an off day tomorrow
  12. Agreed. I was just having a little fun with the tea leaf reading going on.
  13. If we start using Harold Baines as the barometer for HOF worthiness they’re going to have to build a few new wings in Cooperstown. He has the same career bWAR as Russell Martin lol.
  14. If they got Suarez (not arguing for or against it here; personally I feel like pitching is priority numbers 1, 2, and 3), what might the go-to lineup against LHPs look like? Is there an optimal lineup that keeps all of Shaw, Seiya, and Suarez in there? Seiya to LF and Suarez at DH makes sense, but they’ve clearly been more inclined to shield Busch from lefties than any of the regular OFs.
  15. It was the James Baldwin trade to the Dodgers. They acquired a prospect named Jeff Barry, but meant to acquire a player named Jonathan Berry.
  16. Shota’s previous three starts were lights out. I didn’t get to see last night’s game so I can’t speak to just how bad he looked, but seems fair to not write him off after one blowup outing.
