  1. And considering Giles has already basically struck down a deal to a contender to keep playing on a losing team, I guess he's a loser to you.
  2. Not to take this thread off topic again, but uh...."mine as well"? Really? Does that make sense at all?
  3. This is completely and utterly ridiculous. What's so ridiculous about that statement? It's on the mark, besides a couple of good trades, overall his handling of free agency has been terrible. The farm system has not produced a quality position player in years. Despite the 2 division titles, he's left this team in a precarious position with the ridiculous deals to Soriano, Fukudome, Zambrano, etc. Uh, Geovany Soto?
  4. Thats stupid as hell.
  5. Technically, the spelling police handle small spelling errors. I'm with the spelling FBI, we handle the proper noun misspellings. That might be the lamest joke I've ever told.
  6. Who is Rameriz, and why would Seattle trade Ichiro?
  7. Don't Bradley's injury troubles mainly deal with his legs? Would Toronto's artificial surface really be a good idea for him? I guess that is partly negated due to the fact that he'll be DHing most of the time, but I would think if we can match Toronto's offer...the Cubs offer him a chance to play on natural grass, a chance to play on a team that will likely be in the playoff race every year of his contract, etc. I'd think we'd have a pretty big advantage assuming money is equal.
  8. Has Barry Bonds officially retired? Maybe he can play right field!
  9. I'm pretty happy we signed Dempster. Its a pretty reasonable contract, and although I doubt he'll ever perform as well as he did last season, he's always had great stuff...as long as he controls it he should be above average at the very least. That was a long sentence. Now let's get rid of Marquis and find a way to trade for Peavy or something.
  10. Yeah, but are they as big of names as Griffey?
  11. I've heard this from a lot of baseball announcers, and my friend and I are having a discussion about it right now. Is this true, and if it is, why is it true?
  12. Maybe they're waiting for the Cubs convention? 8-)
  13. That home run was easily the most badass thing I have ever seen.
  14. If we make the playoffs next year, which we should....there is gonna be so much pressure in game 1. Hopefully we can at least get home field advantage so that our fans can be dead quiet for us again.
  15. Apparently the only teams in the running now are the Braves, Cubs, and Dodgers. No other teams will be considered. A deal to the Braves is supposedly close, with Yunel Escobar and prospects going to the Pads.
  16. Do what I do, just don't start threads. And any time you post, just make it a somewhat funny one liner that might possibly get an "lol" out of one of them. Its....how I get my jollies.
  17. I hear Peavy to the Cubs is a done deal, but the Cubs want to wait to announce it at the annual Cubs convention.
  18. Has anybody drawn the comparison to the Brian Roberts thread yet?
  19. I think I saw that quote weeks ago.
  20. From somebody who knows next to nothing about Hermida, why are we so high on him? Would he be a better option than Abreu or somebody similar on the FA market, or is it just that he's cheap and lets us upgrade elsewhere while retaining our current FAs?
  21. Didn't want to break it over her head with the cameras watching.
