  1. Willson is awesome, lets give him his contract extension this offseason.
  2. Im rooting for the number between us and second place to get larger. Right now that means root against the Brewers but I suspect it wont be that way for long.
  3. In "things that may help explain our early season struggles", our schedule from the middle of this month through the end of the season is laughably favorable. We might not lose a game between 8/14 and 9/3.
  4. Hm. I kinda wish that hadnt happened. But, whatever. They're beatable still.
  5. Yankees just got gray. Offer Zagunis/Carantini/Grimm/Duensing/one of those Aball pitchers who i dont know for Darvish. If/when they say no, offer that package for Verlander if the FO believes in him. I think that package lands Verlander if we pick up the salary. Im just not sure I believe in Verlander.
  6. The Brewers dont really mind us weakening our future team. Just like we dont really mind them giving us a run for our money in the division this year; as doing so does nothing but weaken their draft position for next year and, thus, weaken their team in 2020/21.
  7. Does Zagunis/Duensing/Grimm/lottery ticket not get us Verlander if we pay the salary and clear all the roster space we need once we send Tiny Carrot down? Edit: eh, maybe not. But if you add Caratini to the deal instead of the lottery ticket, maybe.
  8. Yeah id definitely go with KB at first, but I guess Tiny Carrot needs some at bats, too. Yep, im sticking with this Tiny Carrot thing til it catches on.
  9. this is nitpicking but wouldn't Q be considered our "#2" now? obv doesn't mean anything but he surely would have surpassed jake as second best on the rotation, right? though if second half jake sticks around then it's very close i suppose. now that i typed that out i realize that was silly. this is second half super cubs and they're all equally #1's The order is relatively meaningless in the regular season, but i would imagine we'd go Lester-Arrieta-Quintana-Hendricks in the playoffs to break up the lefties, even if we think that Quintana is better than Jake. Hence, I consider Q to be #3.
  10. I thought it was supposed to be a darth vader force choke. Sweeping these bums to 4.5 back with our 3-4-5 pitchers going is just exactly the type of thing I like to root for. Lets do it.
  11. We appear to be getting owned by James Shields. I hope that stops right about now.
  12. I never wish for injury, but if its the result of your own/your organization's stupidity and it makes our playoff run easier...well, I dont have to root for him to NOT get injured doing this.
  13. Remember that game where alou tied it and sammy walked it off? Im calling here with bryant/rizzo. Edit: hah we're down by two, oops. Thatda been a good way to tie it anyway. Ill settle for a bryant infield hit and rizzo tying it.
  14. You know they brought in a righty to face Javy, right? Which they would have done to face Almora also? There was no chance of Almora vs a lefty. Itda been sweet though, right?
  15. So yeah, about that bullpen help I was talking about in the trade thread....... :(
  16. Understood, but notice that you mentioned all righties, and our path through the playoffs goes through Harper, Murphy, Seager, Pederson, etc. Montgomery is fine. Duensing I'm not sold on....cuz he sucks....I want one more trustworthy lefty. Also, I echo the previous poster's thoughts about what happened to our bullpen in the 2016 playoffs.
  17. Wtf do we need a bullpen arm for We don't NEED a much of anything, its a purely want thing. A lefty to slot in ahead of Montgomery in the playoff bullpen would be a blessing. I'm not sure that Hand is really much better than Montgomery, I've only seen him pitch once or twice against the Cubs, but the numbers look good on the surface and he's controllable.
  18. So how about Brad Hand? Under control until 2020 and he's been solid since he moved to the bullpen. What would it take? Apparently they asked the yankees for Gleybor Torres
  19. Did we just move to within a game, and to a game up in the loss column? That was easy. I really expected to take 1st from them in person at the end of the month, but i guess thatll be the series where we bury them instead. Fun times!
  20. We need that jail cell for some kid we caught with 2 joints anyway.
  21. Well when i said go Bucs, I meant after about 6 more innings. Either way, hooray for whatever in the world a moroff is and yay 1.5 back
  22. We should probably be rooting for Pittsburgh because theyre the better team. But Milwaukee losing gets us in first place sooner, so lets go bucs.
