    I can't help but wonder how this would've played out if Italy hadn't been gifted the US and Australia matches. Now I have to root for France or Portugal to win it all. This sucks.

    Not every post requires a defensive response. There are O$U fans here that don't go nuts everytime we refer to them as O$U, and FSU fans who don't go nuts everytime they see the word Criminoles. Just the other day someone made a post about Quin Snyder that obviously wasn't true, but it was mostly in jest(like HawkeyeCub's post), so it's not worth going nuts over.

    Buehrle shouldn't have made it, but, again, the team had to have a REAL first baseman and not just 4 Designated Hitters. It's not like those guys are cripples. Hafner, Ortiz, and Thome have all played first this year(the easiest defensive position), with almost 100 innings played and only 1 combined error.

    Well he did say it was his top 5 so maybe it means more to him because of the situation. On the Iguchi play, while it was his fault he tripped, what happened afterward is absolutely outstanding. Falling away from firstbase, underhanded throw to first that's kinda shortarmed because he's so close to the ground, just amazing.

    No, but some are significantly downplaying his value. He's no Tim Duncan, but he provides more overall value than say, Ilgauskas. I'd say that's highly debatable. I'm not surprised. It's a loaded question anyway considering who you used, if I disagree with you I come off as a homer. Replace Z with Kaman, Gasol, or Diaw and the point remains. Wallace is awful at the offensive end, is the contract he got worth it for someone who is such a liability for half the time on the floor?

    haha, what now? Michigan and MSU had a combined 3 games before they played Notre Dame. Are you seriously going to say that people overrating Notre Dame is due to their opponents?

    Don't forget his awesome free throw shooting. Yeah, and his rebounding and defense too. Well yeah, no one is trying to say Wallace is worthless and shouldn't be in the league.

    It's not that Wallace isn't a great post player, it's that he's just awful on the offensive end. It's pretty much 4 v 5 as long as you don't leave him completely alone near the basket.

    I don't follow the NBA as closely as some, but IMO this is a terrible sequence of moves by the Bulls. Their two draft picks(and the guys they gave up to get them) and now Wallace don't do much for me in the least. JMO though.

    Discussion of Slugger's team should begin and end with "Sidney Rice is very very good". It's also acceptable to add "Mizzou owned them in the Independence Bowl last year".
